Reeves to Dallas appears to be a done deal

Bill Parcells left the cupboard full with cornerstones such as Tony Romo and Demarcus Ware. Once you have pieces like that in place, it makes it eaiser to go from there.

Do you really want Jerry Jones in charge of Free Agency and the Draft from here on out?

Like Rick Gosselin stated, Jerry Jones is back to trying to collect the "22" best players and not field the best "team".

Again, hopefully Dan Reeves is here for his knowledge of Free Agency, the Draft and how to field a "team" and not "22" guys.
We've had 2 good offseasons since Bill Parcells left. So, like I said, bringing in talent isn't the problem. When we have an offseason where we only bring in bums, let me know. At that point, I'll start hollaring for a new GM.

We haven't won one either. Maybe it's just me, but don't think bringing in talent is the biggest problem with this team.

I mentioned three areas I hope Dan Reeves was brought here to give his advice on.

Not sure why you are only focusing on one or two of those.

you like uber-talented, uber-underachievers?

No, I don't like non-talented, underachievers. And that's why I like Reeves coming in to help out Garrett.

I must say, ardent Jerry defenders (not you per se) are going to look pretty foolish when the direction of how Jerry runs this team continues to change

Actually, the only ones looking foolish are the ones that use this argument. Its the epitome of a fallacy. Literally they use that type of reasoning as the base form of said fallacy.

X has failed y times therefore x is wrong.

Its sad how many times people trump that around as if it proves anything.

Next time good ole Goose gets a sniff of a front office position anywhere you let me know. He has GREAT sources for the draft and outside of trades that he is dead on. Outside of that I don't really care what he says.

I do like that he is proCowboy for the Hall though

our O doesn't lack talent

now if you said our coaches are stupid, I agree with you

you missed my point entirely, if Jerry feels the need to get outside people to help run the football side of things, it's an admission on his part that his style of running an NFL team as owner/de facto GM, doesn't work

owners only hire consultants if they feel their GM needs help

No it just lacks heart. For the money invested it is almost a crime.

That was kinda my point.

Precisely. Jerry must be wondering, "Gee I spent $3 mill on a guy who ran the most talented offense into the ground, where did I go wrong?":(

and Jerry did say he plans to change this year

Or if they feel their offensive coordinators needs some help. Which is more likely -- Jerry thinking he needs help or Jerry thinking Red needs more help?

I would think the latter is more likely if Jerry hadn't said that he plans to change

so your of the mindset that he is garretts babysitter?

if that is the case, who is babysitting the head coach? Is reeves doing that too?

Fair point, but I think the change from Jerry is coming in terms of thing likes the circus during practices. That's one thing that reeaallly irked me this season.

We have possibly the most physically talented team in the NFL. But physical talent is not a guarantee of real success as we have found out. The same could have been said about the San Diego Chargers for the previous 2-3 seasons. At least they made it the the AFC champ game. And have won some playoff games. BUT they still have not even made it to the SB.

Any guarantee it will be for the better? He may know how to make money but he doesn't know football.

I think hiring a football mind to discuss football decisions with him is a start

Jerry isn't a fool, he's a stubborn mule, but he's no fool, and he certainly must recognize that he's losing alot of money, and has been for quite some time now, 13 years to be exact
