So, um, the focus seems to be did he report or not. But look at how they lined up. Even if Decker had reported, he was COVERED UP on the LOS by the guy standing next to him on his left. That makes him ineligible. Unless you are in the slot, meaning a step back from the LOS, only the guys in the backfield and the guys on the END of the LOS are eligible. So, as they lined up, Decker was NOT eligible. And even after the shift, he was still covered up, thus not eligible. The really funny part is that they had FOUR guys on the right side of the OL and ALL of them were ineligible due to the guy to the right not being off the LOS enough. So on this play, Detroit only had three eligible guys. The guy on the left, the guy on the right, and the RB.

Jesus H Christ, it’s pretty cut and dry. You verbally report to the ref you’re in as an eligible receiver. The ref announces to the Defense you are eligible. There is no middle ground. The Lions tried to sneak one passed the Refs it seems. No way 68 just stood there and clearly communicated that just for the refs to announce #70 to the D. Preposterous.

I agree, and also the fact that if 68 was eligible they line up wrong because 68 was uncovered , which would be a penalty.
The smart thing to do after that would have been to kick the point and go to OT.
But no Campbell goes for it 2 more times !!

Good grief I FEEL SORRY FOR THE lions, having a HC that stupid.

It doesn't look like the guy to his left is on the LOS. If 68 reports, that looks like a good formation to me.

Two players cannot report as eligible on the same play. 70 had already reported. The ref is informing 68 that 70 had already reported which meant 68 could not be eligible. 68 should have, at the very least, informed Goff that he was not eligible

Yes, two offensive lineman were close to the ref, and 70 was running up to the ref. Why was 70 running up to the ref? For what reason? You can see the ref staring at 70. All they did was confuse the ref. Just send 68 to the ref, real easy.

Not saying Decker didn't say "report", but it really doesn't matter what Goff said, because he wasn't with the ref and Decker to know what was said, how it was said, how loud it was said,if it was acknowledged, etc. What he should known is when the ref announced #70 over thr intercom.

Also, if in fact Decker did say report, what is not known is how loud he said and the fact that he didn't confirm it with the ref...if you look at the video, the ref never turned away from looking at 70.
