Ref's blow crucial 4th Qtr call

San Diego picks up a crucial 3rd down, midway in the 4th quarter. The next play San Diego scores a Touchdown that gives the Chargers an 9 point lead. However for those with DVR's, on the 3rd down conversion play, the clock had run out without the Ref's blowing the whistle for a delay of game penalty.

It wouldnt have mattered. Even if they call the delay of game penalty, SD stil would have picked up the 1st down on the next play. That game was so frustrating but NOTHING we haven't seen in the past with this team....Another mediocre season...8 wins here we come, which is acceptable here, so everything is status quo.

The Cowboys were whistled for five penalties for 33 yards today.

The Chargers were whistled for eight for 75 yards.

Yep, it was the officials who screwed the Cowboys........

And the Bolts should have been whistled for a few more, IMO.

This means absolutely nothing. Same as the NBA when people gripe about the refs and someone posts a stat like this. It's the non calls and when those fouls occurred. That hold on Leary was huge. Chargers got away with murder the whole game.

Quick question - if the Cowboys won, would you be complaining about the officials?

Cant blame the refs unless its like the green bay seattle game type of thing. We lost because we played 1 quarter out of 4.

Go back to the Giants game, and you will see their O Line doing the choke / wrestle/ground move, and no calls there.

We lost because we couldn't move the ball when we had it. For a 9 point game, this one feels more like a 21 pt blowout....

Rivers was releasing the ball in 2 seconds on many occasions. Eli, has done that to us. The TD's were on our LB's.... 2 on Carter, one on Lee. The Chargers game planned to hit those opportunities and executed. They deserved to win.

Yes, I feel there were missed holds, especially of the choke/wrestle version. Have seen this in other games also , Giants to me are masters at it against us.

This is just such a stupid way of comparing calls. Actual flags thrown. No I'm not being sarcastic when I say that. Flags thrown is a worthless stat since the complaints are on obvious penalties not called.

If they are not going to call holding, well fine, I am used to that, but calling that on Leary after what the Chargers got away with on the previous drive was infuriating to say the least!

What worries me is that the rest of the league is surely picking up on the fact that you can blatantly hold against Dallas and not get called. I've seen our guys tackled without a flag. It doesn't balance out and the rest of the teams will do the same thing until the refs start calling it. It used to just be Ware who everybody was allowed to chokehold. Now it looks like it's the rest of the defense too.

Yes, it was the refs all along.

Carter, Lee and Claiborne being beaten like drums in coverage? The refs did it.

Terrance Williams fumbling near the goal line? The refs.

Garrett losing his mind and going for a 56 yard field goal with plenty of time left for a drive? The refs.

All that can be compared are the calls that are made. Did you ever bother checking to see what the Cowboys got away with call wise, or does that not line up with the agenda?

That's fine, but it's documented in this forum. Go check.

Truthfully, I don't really care enough to do it.

Complaining about refs is the same as complaining about play calling - useless and often without context.

C'mon guys, we're better than blaming things on the officiating, arent we? The defense stunk today and the offense has been in a rut for a few seasons now. We have a whack job for GM and a head coach that is in over his head. Officiating is the least of the problems.

You have succinctly described the mess that are your Dallas Cowboys. What is insane is that nothing changes. Pass first, drop passes, fail to get separation, lose yards on sacks, misplay and untimely penalties. Revolting Development for sure>]].

I didn't say at all that's what happened but go a head and rant. I said its stupid to say the refs called the game even by looking at penalties called.

There were penalties on both sides that could have been called. That's always the case.

What it comes down to is fans always blame the refs. Apparently it's going to take a 2:1 (maybe 3:1) penalty ratio in favor of Dallas in order to get an "unbiased" game around here.

....and here we have the weekly obligatory "it was the refs fault" thread.

no one is blaming the refs but we would like the calls to be made that should be made. Clotheslining our DL going unnoticed while Scandrick is called for a weak PI on the same play is annoying as hell.
