Refs strike again! OT travesty!

I'll say this, there were definitely some weird calls in that game against us. Missing the PI was pretty bad. And how they came up with a blindside block on Joseph on the punt return was bizarre. It was like the ref didn't actually see the block and when the defender went flying, the ref turned and just assumed he must have been hammered from the blindside. I found the hold against McGovern to be pretty ticky tack but I've seen similar called.

But let's not pretend we don't also sometimes get some calls our way. CalPoly pointed out some missed calls in the last Commanders game that definitely helped us. I don't know if it's lopsided against us or not. But I suspect it's just bias at play because we watch the Cowboys and not other teams around the league. I live up here in Philly and to them, they think the Cowboys often are the beneficiaries of close/bad calls. At the end of the day, I think it's just a matter of perspective. People whined about the Tolbert situation and how the ref hosed him there but it appears that Tolbert did in fact screw up. It's not the job of the referee to move an offensive player (or defender for that matter) back onsides.

In general, I think officiating is just not very good across the board. It's not just an league mandated anti-Cowboys thing at work here.
That’s the ironic thing about all these fans and their claims to “ref bias.” They never consider their own biases as Cowboys fans as to how they perceive what’s happening.

I will say this. I wish one of these days some coach would flip out over a missed or bad call and pull his team off the field and forfeit the game. That would put all eyes on the refs and hopefully humiliate them into being better.

It's all perception. Cowboys fans think there is some sort of league wide conspiracy just to hose us and that we never get the calls and the league just wants to protect GB/Rodgers, TB/Brady, etc. And yet if you polled the other 31 fanbases the overwhelming response would be that the Cowboys get the benefit of the calls and are a league protected team.

I’ve gone further than that on this board to prove the lunacy of it all. I’ve posted links to other fan message forums of 5-6 other teams that talked about the same supposed league-wide conspiracy against their teams. The response…..silence.

The other thing at play here is that those Cowboys fans who whine about the officials and conspiracies tend to be the biggest homers. It's easier for them to blame an official than have to accept the reality that we are a franchise with a clear ceiling that Jerry and his gaggle of fools can't bust through year after year. It's easier to say that ref cost us the win yesterday with the missed PI in OT and not have to admit the Packers exposed significant flaws that will likely hold this team back from making any run.

It just feels better to some to just rant at the ref who missed the PI than admit and discuss the reality that our run defense, that cost us late last year, was an utter embarrassment yesterday and will likely continue to hose us.

What a bunch of whining crybabies we’ve become.

And selective ones too.

How come no one is complaining about the refs’ gift of not penalizing Steele’s obvious false start on Lamb’s second TD?

..all the defense needed was ONE three n out.
In that 4th qtr.

Dan planned poorly for this game. He probably doesn't do that again.

thank refs for that mugging on Lamb not called but those 4 flags in OT went on us, i can handle ours but the blatant no call, a game changing OT mugging of lamb on 3rd down, hows that not called? No grey area, that's a blatant PI...you cannot ignore that in a critical situation.

you either eat the whistle or call them all , can't have it one sided!
The play where one of our guys rushing was just laid down upon after he fell…

i did remember that and was calling for a flag because the rule is you have to let them up or its basically holding. it wasn't big deal as some of the others like KJ called for that Blindside hit , that mugging on Lamb were huge plays.

In the History of the NFL, crying about Refs, is a most pointless endeavor.
I only waste my time with that in a playoff/elimination game at best.

That's right, resort to shaming rhetoric for those who state plainly what they are seeing because you can't accept it for whatever reason despite the vast amounts of examples that have accrued.

Meanwhile, you still cannot argue your way around the fact that regardless of the mistakes the Cowboys made earlier in the game they were in a position to win, and did not receive fair officiating. It was totally one sided in the 4th Q and OT.

It was either PI or it wasn't. And if it was you have no argument to excuse that. So stick with the shaming language if that is the best you can do.

When you blow a 14 point lead in the 4th Q against a bad team you open yourself up to a bad call costing you in OT. And that's exactly what happened.

The problem isn't the ref blowing that call. The problem that we should be focusing on is the fact our "elite" D got shredded in the 4th Q and the QB and the offense couldn't move the ball at all in the same quarter.

Multiple things can be true at once. Because Dallas blew their lead doesn't mean they should be okay with being screwed over by the refs in OT.

crying about all facts of the game is pointless then, i mean look at this place everyone sucks and now overrated and blaming game OPINION all over the zone. some so far from reality and common sense it it borders on sports idiots parroting narratives...
Pointing out Facts that actually are recorded for all to see in a real game is not whining. Its stating what actually happened, that why we are here. Got that yet bud?? same for pointing out stats for players its part of the game stat line.. we saw some horrible, missed calls and soem bad ones called onus.im all for them eating the whistle or calling the game balanced and fairly. When its that blatant and critical calls aide in a close loss, its up for debate,

The refs make bad calls around the league every week. Having said that, the refs really seemed to put their thumb on the scale in OT to determine the winner of the game. They hadn't been calling OL holding all game and then in OT decide throw a flag on a ticking tac type of hold. Then Lamb is clearly hit early wide out in open and there is no call. That is the type of play that is flagged every time. Those two calls were huge and gave the win to GB.

On another topic Dallas needs to fix their run defense. I'm not sure why anyone would not run non stop against Dallas at this point.

The ONLY thing The Cowboys have control over is their team and play.

They cannot control the weather, the refs, or what the other team does...
So, pointing out the what the refs do, what the other teams does, and anything but what our team does, is pointless. It may be cathartic, but it's pointless...

Probably because it was not obvious.. Even the ref talking head thought it was borderline.. Linemen do all sorts of gyrations with their hands and stuff before the snap and will turn side to side as well. It's nothing like the refs letting Trent Williams leave a full count before the snap when we played the 49ers.. Now THAT was some egregious false starting.

Steeles false start had no effect on the play. Call the penalty, dead ball, and you back us up 5 yards and the play still happens. We did not get away with one - we got 5 yards.
