Even if we lose, this season has been fun. When we were sitting at 3-5 coming off a blowout loss at home to the Titans, things looked pretty bleak. If you did a poll back then, I imagine dam near everybody on this board would have said this team was done. Considering no Cowboys team in franchise history had ever started the season 3-5 and advanced to the playoffs, nobody could have imagined the run we went on.
Cowboys went on to win 7 of their next 8 games, including a wildcard win over Seattle. Even if the season ends tomorrow in LA, it was honestly a very fun and exciting season.
Just wanted to say this before the game tomorrow and a million new threads are made either celebrating a win or demanding heads on a platter for a loss. Hopefully its the former and not the latter, LOL.
I agree completely. I was more nervous last week because it was the Seahawks and I wanted to break the Playoff curse of the old regime of players that started with the bobbled snap and ended with the Dez no catch. I think this team dug itself out of the hole when they were 3-5 and put together a winning season and a playoff win. We exorcised a lot of demons this season. Regardless of tomorrow's victory (or defeat) this season has been wonderful because there's a lot of hope for the future. Here's what I am taking away from this season if it ends tomorrow.
1. We have a solid group of very talented players that are young and hungry and can win in the playoffs.
2. I have a different view of Garrett. What he's done this year has changed my mind about him. He's a good coach. To not lose the locker room at 3-5 and put together 7 of 8 to finish the year and a playoff victory is good coaching. His X's and O'x may not be the best but he's a leader and the guys will play hard for him and they believe in him.
3. Jerry actually may be a good GM. Yes I said it, Lol. But Jerry saved the season with the Cooper trade which at the time I was so mad about that trade. but Jerry saved the season. So for all the times I felt like he ruins the season and complained, I got to hand it to him that he saved us this year. I have some faith in Jerry the GM after this year. that's encouraging moving forward.
4. Dak Prescott, Dak Prescott, Dak Prescott!!!!!! This year he became the face of the Cowboys and it's his team now and Dak is a winner. Same thing with Garrett, Dak lead the team on the field out of a 3-5 slump and into the playoffs. They players believe in him on both sides of the ball. Say what you want about him but it's hard to argue against he's a winner and he's clutch. Again moving forward that's encouraging.
