Iam no lawyer or anything but arent most endorsement contracts contingent on the player actually playing?

no, endorsement money is guaranteed, all Reggie has to do is sport a logo, and/or appear in an ad in the papers, TV or Internet, and it's his

The Saints did want "Bulletproof" Davis.......

Let's throw he and Ellis in for Bush's rights and Donte Stallworth!

He could be our #3 receiver!

And we'll put Bush in the slot too!

We'll be unstoppable!

don't forget Payton is in love with Romo, throw him in for the Saints 2nd round pick in '07 ;)

I can't believe this thread is 6 pages long...:lmao:

We see the same exact talk every single year from early first round draftees who want their contract done in time for camp. Bush said and did everything exactly right relating to the city of N.O. after being drafted...how soon we all forget. Let's see, Elway and Eli, among others manipulated the NFL draft to end up with teams other than the ones who had the rights to draft them. Bush has said nothing but positive things about playing for N.O. and helping the city, but now his agent "more than likely" uses this as a negotiating ploy, probably because N.O.'s owner, Benson, is lowballing them, and everyone wants to call Bush a punk...ridiculous.

Reggie Bush will be signed...he'll play this season for the Saints...and he'll have a nice career in N.O., and all this silly talk will seem even dumber since this is par for the course in the NFL and always has been (modern times anyway).

The only way N.O. doesn't pay Bush fair money and sign him since it would mean losing the draft pick entirely (there's no reward next draft for them if they don't sign their guy) is if Benson really wants to get out of N.O. and uses this to push away the fan base that would make it impossible to leave without proving that he really doesn't give a damn about N.O. or its people.

I'm surprised with the short history Bush has and the long history of Benson that people are blasting Bush instead of the owner, in this case. I'd watch Benson very carefully if I were you guys...the people of N.O. already know what a snake and cheapskate he is.

I would be sure these guys have say"morality clauses"in these contracts,i.e no drugs, rape etc...Why not a prima donna clause for rookies? He is officially on my Elway list.

People yall can't get mad at him and call him names. Just imagine that was you. People it's just a business. He'll probably be a for sure 1st pick next year. But trust me Saints is going to give him what he wants cause they don't want to chance the risk of losing him and actually having a wasted draft pick. So my advice to Reggie Bush is go up on the price you have now. Go like 10 or 20 million up on the price you have. They have to sign you.

They can't trade him because he ain't sign with them. So it's either going to be a sign or bye-bye to Reggie Bush.

Reggie Bush is just a business man, he's trying to get paid and there is ways to getting paid.

Reggie Bush would definitely not be a 1st pick in next year's draft. Bo Jackson sat out the entire year after being drafted by Tampa. The following year, he wasn't drafted until the 5th round!

I am thinking that too, he wants to go to a good caliber team, not have to wait 3-4 years for the team to be built.

I look at it like John Elway, he could have helped the team he was suppose to go to in the NFL draft the colts, but he didnt want too.

If you remember the Dallas Cowboys had more of a offer on the table for Elway, but the Broncos hoodwinked the Colts staff into supposedly higher draft picks, which wasnt the case.

I agree with you, he should help the Saints out, help the town, in the long run, he would be a hero to fans, the town, etc. At the same time, the Saints arent that bad a team, they have talent on the defensive side of the ball. Decent offense, and they got Drew Brees as a QB if he is healthy.

Yet, most QB's coming back from that type of injury, takes a full year to recover, just look at the Jets Pennington or whatever his name is, he came back to play too soon.

That is the main reason I was not an Elway fan, and do not like the Broncos either. Same with Eli, mostly because of him playing for the Giants. But they have these egos they think are so big they can decide where they want to play. It's the way it is, they should sign with the team that chooses them, then go to FA after their 1st contract is up. I never wished that Elway won anything. Same will go for Eli, and Bush if this is true. Also same for Kosar and the way they used the Supplemental draft to get him. Which is now the reason why the SD is the way it is. The Browns at the time manipulated the draft. Even though Kosar came in for an injured Aikman, and sealed the NFC championship with a TD pass to Harper. He got his SB ring with Dallas, and that's ok. Same for Elway, because over the years I learned to appreciate their play and greatness. But in the early years, I didn't care for them at all.

Yes, we can go to what ever company we want to, getting out of college, but that is different. These guys know there is a draft, and will only negotiate with the team that selects them. They don't have a draft for graduates to work at a company. Sign where your selected and be the player that rises the team from the ashes.

That'd be funny if he continued to hold out until next year and then got picked in the 2nd round because of attitude problems, lol.

You're better than that :p:

But you're right, this is just Bush wanting to get paid like a #1 overall.

That is on Bush and his camp they got greedy on their demands on the Texans and would not compromise (some of what we heard here in houston) plus the word was Kubiak would rather have Williams than Bush so that just nudge it even more to Mario as the #1 pick.

Bush and his camp thought no way the Texans would pass on him because of the Fans they wanted Vince and if not Vince then Reggie guess what Reggie you made your bed now lie in it. Take the less money you dumb arse
