Remainder of season probably doesn't matter

It matters that we play well and build some momentum or we’re going to be looking at another one and done. We can’t just coast the rest of the season because winning the NFC East is unlikely. We’re not going to beat a good team playing like we did today.
The same can be said about the Eagles. They won’t beat a good team playing the way they did against the Colts or the Texans or the Football Team.

If we are the 5th seed heading into the Washington game and are locked into it.
Then rest our starters. Or at least only play them a half or so.

Ugh.....Eagles were playing some bad football around that time too. Could've and should've lost that Colts game. Screwing up against Rodgers hurts but I Think we all knew that at the time it would probably come back to bite us.

On another note....Pam Grier so damn fine.......sometimes I forget....
Indeed. Just rewatched one of the movies she made in the Philippines in the seventies, she was pretty hot

Agreed. I’ve felt the best chance for the Eagles to lose was today in NY, but that wasn’t even a contest. The next best chance for them to drop a game is on the road against Chicago. But they are just in a zone right now and that can carry them.
Yep, does not look good.
All we can do is take care of our business and hope for the best.

We're tied with the Vikings for 2nd best record in the NFC but since we beat them we'd be #2, but because the #1 happens to be in our division we won't even get a home game in the playoffs. Sucks.
I'm shocked they haven't changed the rule of the seedings.

It would at least make things interesting. Like nobody is really catching up to the Eagles but at least the race with the Vikings and Cowboys would lead to some meaningful football. But no.

Not impossible they lose a game and then we beat them (and we win out) They were dominate today but there were several other games they barely won, but then again we barely won today too so...

Edit: looking at the schedule they just have to beat Bears, Saints and Giants at home. Unlikely they'll lose one of those but you never know.
Not impossible

I think you have to look for home field and the bye until it’s confirmed gone. Then go into protect and injury recovery mode until playoff time.
Yeah and this team doesn't really need to take any days off. They should be playing at a high level even if the division is over. I really think they need to use that to their benefit. Not having a bye week can be an advantage.

I don't see it either but I also didn't see them losing to the Commanders either. Its also asking them to sweep the Giants. Which SHOULD happen. I don't know I mean all of it doesnt' matter if the Cowboys don't win I guess that's the first step.

Bears probably will be tanking.......I'd like to think Giants and Saints will still be playing for something.
The Bears game being in Chicago increases the chances for the Bears. The Giants are playing for something and I thought they would split with the Eagles with a win today. It’s going to be hard for the Giants to win in Philly unless Philly has nothing to play for, in which case it doesn’t matter since that’ll only be if the have the 1st seed locked up.

Man, I’ve never been a fan of full throttle all the way through. I think you have to take your breaks and get your impact players rested. Yeah, it can bite you sometimes but I think the odds are in your favor if you rest.

Washington has a decent team that puts out effort every week. Philly was bound to lose a game. No team is going to play knockout football every week. Philly still found a way to beat Indy who has a win over KC and they beat the Texans by 12 points after getting behind early. They beat both those teams on the road. The Texans out played the Cowboys for most of the game. They were imposing their will on us in a few situations. This was a very discouraging performance by the Cowboys. They lost two games last season after scoring 50 points the previous week, and they almost did it again today. Either this is what the Cowboys are or they simply can’t get motivated to play every week. They remind me of the team they were last year another one and done playoff team.

I disagree. How a team plays in a December matters. Most teams- even good ones- can’t just “turn it on” when the playoffs start. It matters how the Cowboys play from here on IMO if they want to go into the playoffs strong.

Evidence- the winners of the last 3 SBs all played very well in their last 5 games
  • 2019- SB champ Chiefs were 5-0 in last 5 reg season games that year.
  • 2020- SB champ Bucs were 4-1 last 5 reg season games.
  • 2021- SB champ Rams were 4-1 last 5 reg season games.
How well you are playing at the end of the season matters quite a bit. Especially if you are coming from the #5 seed where you will likely be playing on the road throughout. A sad reminder- the Cowboys haven’t won a road playoff game since Jan. 17, 1993 when we upset the niners to advance to SB 27.

The Cowboys have 4 games left. This team needs to get focused and play better the rest of the season because regardless of seeding, how well you play late in the season matters in the playoffs.

And you know what? I say the Bears will be tanking but you typically only tank for QB's and they got Fields already so who knows maybe they think a W is more important.
