Report: Commanders will release Robert Griffin III

He didn't seem to kill Gruden?

Maybe it's the Shanny's who have the problem?

That's because the NEW Commanders GM an Coach wouldn't play his and his daddies entitled mind games. They wanted a real QB not a drama queen. A real QB that can read a defense an be coached.

His nickname is RGMe for a reason.

I made this very point to my best friend (who happens to be as big of a Skins fan as I am Cowboys) and his response via text:

Yeah that goal line stand changed everything. And sure, on paper the Packers are definitely still a better team . But if Jackson just sticks the ball out for the pylon it never happens.

And up big at home with a Packers team that has struggled lately, I would like my chances there.

Another one for the Desean Blockhead File...

I know you saw this coming when you typed it but I can't resist...

This is the same FO that thought Weeden and Cassel could get the job done too. In fact they were actually talking up Weeden in the offseason, and gave him all of three games before yanking him.

Not exactly a confidence builder.

Perhaps WE were wrong about Weeden. He did go win two in Houston without truly knowing their system and lead them to the playoffs.

Yes and no. I don't think Cassel was better at all, but I don't know that we would have won a ton more sticking with Weeden. Maybe if someone somewhere could have actually figured out a game plan for him.

And he won games in Houston because they have a defense that can play for 4 quarters and Hopkins is a beast.

You're right it's not a confidence builder.

But I think their smugness of thinking they don't need a quality backup QB has been slapped out of them.

Dare I say, I don't think they're going to leave a stone unturned this offseason reinforcing the position.

Yep and he only attempted 42 passes over two games.

They weren't the only people that thought Weeden and Cassel were good adds. Many pundits thought those moves were solid.

I don't want Manziel in any way, shape or form...RG3 gives me pause....if the plan was to bring him in as a back-up and also draft a QB, then I can live with that (I think)....he should come cheap

Good thing you are not the GM......

Anyways...

Welcome Home Brother! Help us defeat and banish the demon named Romo, and lead us to the promise land!

A QB that struggles to read a defense and doesn't nearly have the mobility that he had in 2012 and likely never will. If you think Romo is a demon, wait until you get the devil in there. The next QB for this team should come via the draft.

Yup. He will come blue light special cheap.

I don't care if we bring in 50 free agent QB'S and use our entire Draft on QB's. As long as we find one QB that leads us to the Promised Land. Jerry got plenty money to mess up.

I don't see how either RGIII or Manziel do not end up in Dallas. From a JJ perspective, RGIII is still really young and Gives Dallas a potential starting QB when Romo retires that could be had at a decent price.

Seems like a Jerry Jones move all the way.

Since he could be very cheap what is there to
Lose? Bring him to camp and see how he acts and plays. If he looks like trash, cut him. If he has grown as a player then you got a good deal. Then draft a QB this year and develope him. When he is ready just trade RGIII back to the skins for a couple first rnd picks

My take on RG3 is just as stated above. He will come at a blue light special bargain basement rate and be super motivated. Why?

That's because he has had a nice taste of the multi million dollar Nieman Marcus rate and will be desperate to get back to that quality of life.

The Skins did us a favor.

Agree on Manziel.

Do you think he would sit for an entire season and not cause any sort of issue?

Can't sell sandwiches carrying a clipboard.

I think he tries to go someplace he could have an opportunity to start - Philly, Rams, Houston, probably Denver or N.O might all do that. There's always someone that thinks they can *fix* a guy.

We'll see.

No one in their right mind will take him as a starter or even to challenge their current starter. He has to rebuild a rep that he helped damage early on. Blessing in disguise for us.

It's a QB starved league, and when you're looking at Case Keenum or Mark Sanchez as your current #1 on the roster, dumber things have happened.

RG3's agent is going to try to blame mismanagement by the Commanders for everything. Its a matter if someone bites on that.
