Pollack?

Yeah, lets replace a guy who had 3 lineman 2nd team All Pro.

Good thinking.

He doesn't need to be replaced, but he does need to be challenged to improve.

I think he messed around with a lot of the blocking concepts that work for our guys and it showed.

It just seemed we mixed in more man blocking with the zone than we did last year, probably to accommodate our RBs.

Smith, Frederick and Martin are so special when they are moving, we need more zone.

Agreed. The man blocking concepts were to accommodate the RB's, specifically McFadden. He averaged something crazy like 3YPC more when running behind a man blocking scheme. We really need a back who can excel in a zone scheme, our guys are too good in space. Dont forget Collins too. Our OL is a Mike Shanahan wet dream.

I just think people wanted a reason to whine when the OL suffered early in the season due to lack of cohesion and Martin still injured. Then they wanted to whine when we couldn't run against 10 man boxes when our QBs couldn't adjust or throw a ball further than 10 yards.

We also had the fewest pressures in the league. It's just odd to me anyone would want him replaced.

It is just misplaced anger. I am not satisfied with the performance in short yardage and that has caused me to question what we are doing. But in retrospect, we don't need to replace Pollack. But we need to get away from the man concepts and get a back that understands how to run downhill, behind zone blocking.

Brandon Carr is so good that I'm pretty sure he set an NFL record in yards against. Henderson must have coached him to completely embarrass himself.

And the pick in the draft doesn't matter if the guy isn't that good. By that standard, we should sign Ryan Leaf this off-season because he was a high pick.

You tell me. Am I suppose to believe that guys simply forgot how to play? Say what you want about Carr but he was a highly respected corner prior to coming here.

And Ryan Leaf had his problems. Talent might not have been the biggest problem. Claiborne was rated as the best corner in this draft not just by us but by everyone.

So i'm suppose to believe that none of these guys can play? And then Byron Jones comes along doing the same exact mistakes that our other corners are making? Never looking back when the ball is in the air? Playing 10 yards off his receivers? In a league dedicated to passing......i'm not buying that all these guys simply can't play.

I'm going to miss the "guaranteed two extra victories per year" that Henderson was supposed to bring the team.

Here's a candidate to replace him.

In coaching circles it is widely known that Nick Saban considers himself the best DB coach in all of football. Now that he has conquered college football, maybe Nick can take on one of the biggest challenges in the NFL... teaching his pupil Garrett how to coach..just kidding, kind of... fixing the Cowboys secondary.

I can't help it. Everytime this thread gets bumped I get happy seeing it. Guy was worthless and had no idea how to use our corners for years. Not saying our corners are amazing, but you can coach up players and he didn't. He has a naturally gifted corner in OScan and that's it.

Then get ready to be depressed. He's staying.

Keeping the band together for 2 more years I bet

#TheCowboyWay

We will chalk 2015 season up to romo being injuried and that will be the excuse.

Is that so? So why was Ciskowski drummed down because he couldn't bridge the gap between the coaches and the scouts?

Coaches get involved late in the process and depending on how much and how loud they squawk, they can have a huge impact on who gets drafted. I do know he was all happy and proud with several of these prospects when they were drafted, like he had an emotional investment.

All I can say is that I can't sit there and say that Henderson was just some poor deprived coach who never got talent to work with. He had several premium draft choices including a top ten choice in Claiborne that cost a second, a very expensive free agent in Carr, several other middle round picks as well.

He probably should have been flushed with Rob Ryan.

Isn't that part of the issue?

Weren't Claiborne and Carr brought in to help Ryans defensive schemes?

That stuff has been scraped.

Just looked on NFL.com as a lot of the position coach's are now getting signed up by different teams. (meaning the likes of Campbell etc.)
Who doesn't find it ironic/crazy, that after the hugely disappointing year we have just had - Garrett, Jones et al decide to not replace a single coach on staff !!! What's the saying - the height of futility is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting different results.
Wilson should be gone, Henderson should be gone, I would have pushed hard to replace Polk (TE Coach ?) with Campbell. And that's just off the top of my head.
This FO/team can be so frustrating at times ...
