For the right price this would be awesome. Has to be incentive laden for the best results.

Doesn't sound like he has any other offers out there

So he has no leverage

Unless he wants to be unemployed next year

And yes, I am assuming he has absolutely no other valuable skills...sure, call me a jerk

He will accept whatever offer we have on the table....I fully expect him back

Any offer will include a 25% payment that will be owed to the league. I can see why he's pushing for a little cash.

I wonder if they can structure his contract where he gets paid per game and that amount escalates for each game he plays and an additional bump for the number of games played in a row. The idea is to make the first four games be his lowest pay which I would assume would be the four game checks he would have to give up for substance abuse.

How does the NFL determine the amount of the fine if his salary is structured this way?

I'll assume they'll average it out or make it a fixed amount so teams can't strategize around the fine with a clever contract.

They could just give him a larger signing bonus and low base salary.

But I'm pretty sure Dallas gets credit back against the cap for the fine, so it might benefit them more to do the deal normal like.
