On the heels of some rough news, this could be big news for the Cowboys, and even bigger news for David Irving.

Irving was a breakout star on Dallas' defensive line last season. He put together a marvelous game against the Buccaneers late in the year, and continued to play well down the stretch. The Cowboys figured he'd be a big part of their front this year, but a four-game suspension has cast some doubt on that.

It appears that Irving has some evidence that could exonerate him, which would be fantastic news for him and the team.

Maybe because they tested Randy Gregory instead and thought it was Irving. Who knows......

I would not trust a supplement made anywhere near China, it may contain something as innocuous as saw dust or something like arsenic.

It has nothing to do with them "sneaking" ingredients into the supplements. In the case I referenced, the supplement company that was involved gave a statement that the tainted ingredients were the result of manufacturing equipment not being cleaned properly in between runs of different products.

Somehow, it always goes back to hygiene.

This is going to be sadly humorous. The logic of this proof belongs to a 24 year old athlete who wants an improbable outcome.

The idea that he may not have known doesnt matter. The fact that he took it does.

He would have to prove that it does not contain a banned substance that any drug testing was innacurate. Good luck with that......

You have no idea what is defense is. Maybe better to wait than make assumptions?

Yeah people do this every offseason and this team is always far better than people give it. Last year people said we would be the worst defense in the league.

He's more than likely going to get the 4 game suspension.

But here's a legitimate question I have.

Do players have to get endorsement deals approved by the players union?

If they do, and he was given approval to endorse the product that got him popped, then You could see the confusion.

In fact, players aren't supposed to be able to endorse any company who makes a supplement that is banned. Say for instance, if Isopure had one supp out of 30 that tests positive, players can no longer rep Isopure.

To me, this is his only line of defense that'll work.

"I was given permission by the league to market this product, and I can prove that this supplement contains the substance that shows on my test"

Then MAYBE he would get a reduction.

Unfortunately, Irving's burden of proving himself innocent will be a heavy one.
This pending proof will have to be convincing. Let's hope it's sufficient.

clearly Duane Brown's infraction was an outlier and shouldn't be used as a precedence for Irving's case

unless of course he ate some tainted meat (which has not been reported)

imo, Irving's case sounds eerily similar to Lane Johnson's unfortunately

Did we trade him to the Steelers or Giants?
