He still faces suspension from the NFL. Probably 6 regular season games. But I wouldn't mind him on this team.

that has about a snowball's chance in **** of happening. any jury will be effected by the fact that a judge has already found him guilty and the pictures of her afterwards are ridiculous.

In NC they have a different system than most states. He was found guilty by a lone judge during what they call a bench trial. Everyone is entitled to a full jury trial if they wish to appeal the judge's decision. I don't think the first verdict will have any effect on the other.

I would like further information before I pass judgement. There is no excuse for striking a woman or anybody for that matter. Everyone deserves a second chance and hopefully this is the only incident and he be a productive citizen whether he plays for the Cowboys or not.

Also we need to know who else witnessed all the things besides the bruising, which is inexcusable.
Most trials are won or lost in the Voir dire (jury selection) process. It comes down to what specific jurors believe.

The witness were:
A woman that said she heard them arguing but didn't see anything.
His buddy.
The building security guy that didn't want to call the police and was uncooperative when they arrived.

The girlfriend tested positive for cocaine and has a history of drug use.

IIRC, she is white. I can see some old school brother on the jury that would just see her as a gold digging druggie and would not vote to convict him regardless of the evidence.

Thanks for that detail. There's always two sides to the story.

I'm by no means a lawyer, but this appeal seems like a long shot. So now we are talking about signing a player with at least a 6 game suspension....Idk, I guess it would depend on the contract. I can't see him signing anything but a 1 year contract though so he can get his value back up

This team desperately needs a player like this production wise.

Bingo! I would love to see player of his production along our front four. Our secondary played last year with hardly any pass rushers. If Zack Martin can come in and help our offence control the clock by aiding in the running attack and pass protection; think about what a player like this can add to our defence.

Is is a 6 game suspension if he is acquitted? I don't see the Cowboy signing him if he is convicted.

Is this speculation or a fact? The only reason we have a shot at him is because of his legal trouble. I would still sign him knowing he may be suspended for some games.

Always be looking for undervalued talent.

One thing Jerry has done well is surround his best players with support.

Get er done.

Link? It's not that I don't believe you, I just haven't had any interest in him since his name has been bandied about around here as a possible FA signing. Thanks.

I recall seeing some pics on an outside the lines about him, but can't seem to find them on line now.

If acquitted there should be no suspension

If found guilty he will most likely get a 6 game suspension.

Would love for Dallas to sign him. Even with a 6 game suspension. He would be very nice in the last 10 games next year... not to mention in the years going forward.

I doubt he has a real problem, although I could be wrong. I have known many 20 something year old guys who got in tussels with a girlfriend. If he really beat her up then that is another matter but if they just shoved each other and the girl is trying to get back at him or get money, then it is forgivable.

I can't see Jerry even considering this given the facts already documented. Unless someone gets paid off in this case, Hardy has much more serious issues he is facing than worrying about free agency.

read the story, my man. This is much more than a shove or 2.

Very interested in picking him up provided there are provisions in his contract that state if he gets in trouble again, the Cowboys have the option to null and void his contract. I don't like taking chances on guys who can sink the ship because of bad judgement or moral character.

You can't really add those things to a contract. The NFLPA isn't the strongest, but they would fight extra clauses. The best you could do is limit the guaranteed money and signing bonus so if you had to walk away you could.

And like Casmith pointed out, he was given zero punishment in the bench trial but is still appealing, which means his attorneys think they have a slam dunk case to win the appeal. In his 911 call he said he had video of the whole thing, combine that with the credibility of the accuser and lack of direct evidence, and Hardy probably has a very strong case to make.

Right, he called 911. He could've taken his punishment and moved on, but he is still fighting it.
