1) You don't know me. Check your rhetoric accordingly.

2) You clearly have no clue how lawyers truly operate. "Required to lie?" Lawyers usually don't testify, witnesses do.

3) Lawyers have stringent codes of ethics. Probably more so than your profession. Did you have to take and pass a test on professional responsibility before you started working at your job?

Are there some who violate those codes? Of course. But only a bigot would damn a whole group of people for the mistakes of few.

Tell me, have you ever hired a lawyer? Have you ever had professional dealings with one? I really want to know. If yes, what happened? If not and your basing your opinion on what you've seen on Law & Order and Court TV, then I'll treat your opinion accordingly.

Typically the people screaming the loudest are the one's who have no idea what they're talking about.

EDIT: And another thing. Just about every profession has people in it who are less than admirable. Clergymen, car mechanics, doctors, taxi drivers, the cable company, the oil business, accountants... I could go on and on.

But hey, I realize it's easy to bag on lawyers, because a) they generally make a lot of money, and b) they're in high profile positions. All I'm saying is if you want to go beyond joking, you better know what you're talking about.

I could tell you lots of bad lawyer stories. But let me tell you just one that does not involve me.

On the street where I live, in the redwoods of far Northern California (425 miles north of Frisco) a lawyer from San Fran bought one of the house as a kinda of weekend retreat. On his property was a tree that was falling over the road. It had sunk to the point that delivery trucks couldn;t get through. The local fire district ordered the tree to come down.

This lawyer guy refused to cut his tree. Now trees in this area are like weeds. Cut one and six grow out of the stump. It is not an environmental issue.

My neighbor can't get his 5th wheel out because the tree has dropped so low that it wont clear. After a number of conversations with the lawyer guy, my neighbor fires up the Husky and cuts the tree down.

The lawyer tries suing him in the county. No luck. Goes state, again no luck. The right of way was blocked and the fire district had ordered the tree removed.

Think that is the end? Nope! The lawyer goes to federal court in Frisco, and sues my neighbor. Now, the feds wouldn't take a tree cutting case, so the lawyer files it as a civil rights complaint against the county, the state, the fire district, and my neighbor. Now the feds have to take it because the complaint is against a state agency.

Long story short, the case got thrown out with prejudice, but only after my neighbor incurred $10,000 in legal fees. Of course, the court won;t rule on the legal fees, and he is out of pocket.

It was straight up harassment, but no one cared. This guy is typical of lawyers. They use the ins and outs of the court system to harass people all the time. Granted, not all lawyers, but many. That is why big firms keep them on retainer. It is protection money. I have seen it time and again.

You can't take on a lawyer because no lawyer will represent you against another. I have been sued no less thatn 8 times by the same two scumbag lawyers. Each time the case was thrown out. Fortunately for me, my agency picked up the defense costs. I could go on, but I think I won't.

I have a lot of experience with lawyers, mostly bad. They like to bully people. Prolly cause they got their lunch money taken in school.
