Report: Favre to Jets

Wow! Thank goodness, keep him in the AFC, although we've always had his number.

Let's get the Pennington-to-Dallas-to-replace-Brad chant started right here. :D

Some would say Chad and his arm are just a younger version of Brad though.

I'm curious about everyone's thoughts on this. Theoretically, Pennington's skill set is that of a good backup. But like you said, he seems like a younger (but current version) of Brad Johnson.

Jets are going to contend for a playoff spot

In the NFC I'd say yes, but AFC will be much tougher IMO. As good as Favre is, you're only as good as your OL.

If I were the Vikings I would go after Chad Pennington.

What he would be able to give the Vikings would help them over what they have.

After all this media stuff, I just want to see Favre fall on his face and have a terrible year.

I'm not the only one, am I?

Since trading him to the Jets doesn't affect the Cowboys, I'm glad this whole Favre saga is finally over. I guess we'll hear more about it over next few days and that it will quiet down.

News out of Green Bay is that NY offered a conditional 4th round pick which may increase depending on Favre's performance.

The Packers demanded a 3rd round pick + Brian Griese out of Tampa Bay and the Bucs refused.

i've been a pennington fan since he was in college at marshall throwing pass to randy moss.i wish him the best of luck elseware if this is in fact true and they do let him go.

Yeah, can't risk losing Brian Griese.

The good news is he's going to a small market team where he can just disappear and I don't have to have him shoved down my throat anymore.

Oh ... wait.

A younger and Much More Injury Prone version. I'd rather have Brad and his durability.

As bad as I want to replace Brad there just doesn't seem to be any better options coming available.

Although this drastically improves their QB situation, I see the Jets winning a wild card game max. There's no way they're getting past Indy, NE and probably even SD or Pitt.

If he's playing to realistically win, there's definitely a much better chance to make it out of the NFC with only 1-2 true contenders.

Aaron Rodgers better get ready for a longggg season. There's no way this trade to the Jets will make Rodgers' life any better.
