News out of Green Bay is that NY offered a conditional 4th round pick which may increase depending on Favre's performance.

The Packers demanded a 3rd round pick + Brian Griese out of Tampa Bay and the Bucs refused.

Who here thinks they could have gotten a 1st or 2nd out of Minnesota for him?

Goes to show how much confidence they have in Rodgers. They'd rather forego a high draft pick than have to play Favre twice a season. Seems kind of backwards to me. If they're this confident in Rodgers (and the team) for the future, there should be no hesitation about where Favre goes.

There is no way I would have let Favre go to the Vikings, and it would have nothing to do with Aaron Rogers. First of all, it would have beeen a PR fiasco for the Packer fans, similar to Troy Aikman playing for the Commanders for Cowboy fans. And besides upgrading the most important positoin of your biggest division rival, he's a walking encyclopedia of your players, your schemes, your tendencies that the Viking coaches can reference at their disposal when they play you twice a year.

Once the trade is completed with the Jets/Green Bay and he reports to New York, can he be traded again? Say to Minnesota??

After all this media stuff, I just want to see Favre fall on his face and have a terrible year.

I'm not the only one, am I?

No worries, he is on the cover of Madden :)

The good news is he's going to a small market team where he can just disappear and I don't have to have him shoved down my throat anymore.

Oh ... wait.

As true as that is... I'm afraid we'd be getting 24/7 Brett Updates if he played for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Brad Johnson has won a superbowl. He is a great backup. He doesn't get the credit he deserves. He has had a great career. Cowboys should be real happy he's here.
Pennington is damaged goods although he was real good a few yrs. ago.

So what exactly did Favre come back for?

The only thing I can really think of is money.

Because I seriously doubt he can win, improve his legacy, and enjoy playing football with the Jets.

Furthermore, should be sickening to hear the Favre vs. Brady droolfest twice a year.

He was offered $25 mil to not come back; I just think he still wants to play.

I'm not watching his next retirement conference, though.

Also, if I were the Bears or Vikings, I would just offer a 1st to the Jets for him now.

What a cluster-flock this has been with plenty of blame for both sides to go around.

The Packers were dumb not to try to get Randy Moss or other WR help for Favre like he begged them to do the last couple of years. Also, it's hard to imagine they really think Rodgers gives them a better chance to win than Favre does, even if he did jerk them around. You'd think they would want the best chance THIS YEAR, not in the future.

On the other hand, Favre has been a whiney, arrogant and selfish clown who couldn't make up his mind what he wanted to do. And when he finally decided, he refused to tell McCarthy he would be 100% committed to the pack. It also sounds like he has let his relatives make his decisions for him.

What an ugly situation.

I am pretty sure that Ted Thompson put language in the deal that prevents that or at the very least makes the Jets pay a heavy penalty in draft choices.

deal is condition 4th-
if he plays 50% of the snaps it moves up to a 3rd.
If he plays 70% of the snaps and the team makes the playoffs it moves to a 2nd.
If he plays 80% and they go to the Super Bowl, it moves to a 1st round.

Jett Favre!!!

Good gosh... I can already see the headlines.

Frankly, I'd rather see him there than Tampa, though. I hope he gives the Pats fits, twice a year.

He just made Parcells rebuilding job in Miami a little bit tougher, too.

Wow.

Green Bay could come out of this nice if Favre succeeds.

I hope the Jets tank then. :D

If this was 2001, I would agree with you.

It's kind of sad that two of our WR's (Crayton and Stanback) have a better arm then our backup QB.
