Report: Favre to Jets

It should be interesting to see how Brett handles the NY media when he blows a game. They are ruthless and he won't be used to that. He could do no wrong in GB.

Oh and Morning Sarge

He'll listen to Romo and just have fun in the AFC.

This potentially has the posibility to be the most dumb trade ever.

A first rounder for a 38 year old? OMG:bang2:

If it gets them a Superbowl this year, then I think it would be worth it. If the Jets don't make the SB, then they don't lose a 1st rounder. From what I have seen, it looks like a good deal for the Jets. They really didn't have to give up too much unless Favre and the team do well.

Frank Caliendo was on Mike & Mike as I was coming to work.

Hilarious.

He was calling him Jet Favre. He said he had a petition started to not only retire #4 from the Packers or the NFL, but the entire numerical system. He said kids should count like this.

One, two, three, Favre, five.....Favreteen...

Very funny Frank *in my Bradshaw voice*

If I were the Vikings I would go after Chad Pennington.

What he would be able to give the Vikings would help them over what they have.

no it would not, Jackson is a good qb aloot better then pennington

You haven't seen enough of the Jets play - they are terrible.

Not so much.

If memory serves me... The Jets beat one team with a record over .500 two seasons ago... and last year they were horrible.

So yeah.... they are primed to dethrone the Pats.... Not! :laugh2:

who knows from year to year how a team will perform. Nobody thought the Packers would be good last year. Also last year at this time, I think most in this forum were figuring out how to spend the Browns top 5 draft choice the Cowboys were going to get after the Brady Quinn deal. That didnt happen either. New Orleans went from worse to championship game two years ago. Chicago went from horrible to Super Bowl two years ago. Tampa went from top five draft choice to NFC South champion last year. After the Giants first two games last year, nobody would have put them to win another game much less the Super Bowl. Hard to predict what a team will do these days...

Yeah. Pennington is mediocre, but I think he'd be an upgrade for the Vikings.

It'd be fun to watch Pennington beat the Packers ....

it will be interesting to see what the Pack got back but I am guessing not much and they just took the trade to get Favre to the NFC and to the worst team who wanted him.

The Jets were ranked 23rd in a recent espn power rankings. Thats hardly a science but they also went 4-12 last year. We are a talking about ateam that has Cowboy castoffs Abram Elam and Kenyon Coleman starting for them.

Favre will help but that team only added 2 first day draft choices and 1 of those was a TE.

Pennington is definitely an upgrade for them. He is ironically the opposite of Jackson... he is very accurate and reads plays well but has a pop gun arm.

Just as a general rule of thumb, you can laugh at any sentence that begins with: "Jackson is a better QB than..."

except for better than Quincy :laugh2:

that can't happen if the jets turn around and trade him to the vikes they have to give the packers 3 number 1's

Wonder if there is a clause for a three+ way trade that results in Favre going to the Vikings.

When will Favre be able to enter the FA market?

I'm not ready to annoit Jackson but he's got a lot of potential and it appeared the lights came on last year. His last half wasn't bad. I expect the Vikings to win that division although it won't be easy for them.
