Report: Feeling around NFL' is Mike McCarthy will return to Dallas Cowboys in 2025

Shadeur Sanders in New Yawk next season too while Jerry handed out this ridiculous contract in Dallas .

The Cowboys better pay attention to back up QB spot in 25 with Prescott coming off this injury . Like someone said coaches on one yr deals will bolt which is not necessarily a bad thing with this staff but who does an MM bring in ?

As bad as roster as this is, nobody could coached this team RJ be better,

You have got to be kidding me. Only Dallas Cowboys if this really happens.

Report: ‘Feeling around NFL’ is Mike McCarthy will return to Dallas Cowboys in 2025

It is starting to seem more likely than not that Mike McCarthy could return to the Dallas Cowboys in 2025.

Jerry Jones has been dropping breadcrumbs left and right for a few weeks now. At just about every turn or radio appearance, Jerry has expressed confidence/optimism/support/call-it-what-you-want in favor of Mike McCarthy as the head coach of his football team. It should be noted that Jerry did not exactly do this back in January when it would have made sense (in a literal sense, not a contextual one) to extend the skipper. As we are all aware, he chose to let McCarthy (and a majority of his staff, including new defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer) run at the season in contract years which has existed as a cloud hanging over them throughout the entire campaign.

What a bunch of perverts.

All the talk from Stephen and Jerry has been empty, non-committal, corporate talking points.

They're doing the same thing they did with Garrett: Let him run out his contract so it's a mutual parting, and nobody was technically fired. He's not coming back.

If your reasoning for firing McCarthy is because the team needs to be reset or rebuilt so that should be done under a new coach you’re building your reasoning on a faulty premise.

While I don’t disagree with a rebuild, they chose to pay dak, Ceedee, are paying Micah - there is no rebuild coming.

^ This. I believe this observation has been repeatedly ignored and caused some to continually fall for clickbait traps.

Jerry Jones projected Jason Garrett to become his Tom Landry. Memories may have become foggy but Jones hired Garrett before he signed Wade Phillips. Garrett was, quite literally, a head coach-in-training for Jones.

Jones was highly committed towards seeing Garrett succeed and validate his assessment of Garrett's abilities. That is why he stuck with Garrett for so long. Jones' patience finally wore out, years after a sizeable number of media and fans had given up on him.

Jones' view of Mike McCarthy is not the same as it was for Garrett. The first and most important clue of what Jones might do with McCarthy was not extending his contract before the season.

Jones had the opportunity of proving to everyone his future commitment to McCarthy each week by renewing their professional relationship beyond 2024. Has not happened. Each remaining regular season week, that shall pass without re-upping McCarthy, increasingly suggests Jones refuses to invest in McCarthy any longer--just like the end of Garrett's tenure.

If McCarthy returns the fan base will be even more down on the team heading into next season than they were heading into this season. At least a new head coach will mean a new approach. It would provide at least a glimmer of hope things could change for the better.

Look I’m no extra means obviously. My main gripe is that if this is the way that they wanted to go, then they should’ve made moves for the future of this franchise.

Wasted an entire season with no free agents no new signings, and a bunch of coaches on one year deals who won’t be here next season. It’s not like McCarthy is going to magically be able to find some staff that wasn’t already for him.

This Is status quo for how Jerry operates
first of all please don't use words like no when it's not actually true I realize there's no big time no significant trades or free agents but Kendrick started all year and he was a free agent he's actually helped this defense be better this year and I know it don't look like it because we've had like 18 injuries mostly on defense...

But they did add ,Joseph ,Lawson ,Phillips Mingo, Henry(de?) ,Dalvin cook, and few others i can't remember mostly on and off the practice squad Oh and players like Butler and Oruwariye both played a lot of snaps until they got hurt. was vigil and Buddy the Lbers FAs?

But don't say it didn't do anything literally they replaced people they just didn't do it with significant signings, but Butler was on his way to becoming a new hometown hero before he got hurt and Oruwariye held his own outs die of the ST muff.

We never pay attention to backup anything, especially QB. Jerry doesn't operate like a GM with Plan Bs. He operates solely to prove that his Plan A was right, even if we lose every single game.

The older JJ gets the more insane his moves look. Prescott was the darling of all the so-called football experts coming into the season and now these so-called experts are all saying that the signing of Prescott is a move that is going to bury the Cowboys for years to come. JJ needs to stop pandering to all the experts and start making moves that make commonsense for his team.
