They really are out of options at this point. The team is not getting it done with Weeden at QB. It is not all on Weeden, but it is definitely time for a change.

This is one damn STUBBORN coaching staff.

Collins and Michael need to replace Leary and Randle, respectively...and sooner than later. Lets see.

I'm going to guess there is a reason he hasn't. I'm also going to guess you don't actually know why that is.

I'm going to guess we haven't nuked some belligerent country for some stupid reason, but I think they are just STUBBORN for not doing it already!

Does it really matter? Romo will not even need to come back by the time he is designated to return.

Maybe it is just me but sounds like someone just guessing with a gamble of high probability on his side. In other words saying highly likely is pretty much a captain obvious claim to make at this point, except we are dealing with the Jones and the Ginger...

I will have to hear it from Jason or Jerry before I believe it.

Yes, I'll wait for a report from the media guys that are with the team every day.

and that is the million dollar question.

We've mainly assumed that the NFC East will be wide open and that a healthy Romo can come back and win the division. If Romo's due to come back and the Giants (or Eagles) are 3 or 4 games up is it worth it?

I'd be surprised if Cassel doesn't start the next game. They've lost 3 straight, why not see if he can do better? It's an easy decision.

The bye week to get him ready makes this a no-brainer.

Worst case scenario is he doesn't get the job done and you go back to Checkdown Weeden. Fantasy players everywhere will load up on Darren McFadden and multiple 3-yard receptions.

It's a guess, but anything less that a defense of Weeden means he's sitting unless Cassel just looks awful in practice.

The one thing that makes me think that will change is that Garrett didn't rule it out at the post-game press conference. Normally, he is the type of guy to say "Weeden is our QB next game" just to get that talk over with. The fact that he threw it out there knowing he will continue to get asked about is telling IMHO.

I agree we should go with Cassel, but I hope the rest of the offense steps up and does a better job than they did for Weeden. The coaches need to produce plays that can get the receivers open, and the receivers need to hang on to the ball when it comes their way. We're simply not good enough to get away with drops - we need every completion possible. And please, get the first down instead of seemingly always making nine yards. Pretty please with sugar on it.:)

I totally get what you are saying. But I think even with Jason and Jerry involved, its pretty much a lock that Cassel gets the next start.

I agree BP. I think it's more of a guess and just throw it out there to see if it gets hits.

I will say this, I didn't really expect Weedon to be able to come in and run an offense the way Tony did. That's foolish to begin with. I think that in two of the three L's, Weedon played well enough for us to have a chance to win. In this last game, I don't believe that was the case but it was the Pats. They are a good team and they will make you look silly if you are limited.

The thing that really bothered me was the last series. 6 straight incompletions from the Red Zone. Even when we got bailed out by a holding call and a 1st down. Williams was wide open on the last play and that should have been an easy throw for any QB to make. It was such a poor pass and no pressure to speak of on Weedon, that's kind of telling IMO. I don't know if he was just so rattled or what but he really should have been able to make an accurate throw there. He couldn't and that makes me think that it's in his head now. I guess we'll see.

Glad someone else saw that. Williams is not a #1, but he did get open several times and Weeden couldn't deliver. Also , he is a statue standing there in the pocket .

I doubt that any changes are going to happen. Cowboys had a chance to bench Randle this week - and that didn't happen.

Now they should have put in Cassell in the 2nd half and they didn't either.

I feel that the Cowboys are so used to losing. Its now part of their DNA. Last year was an anomaly and they finally found a way to win. Now they seemed to have gone back to their old habits that made them losers for so many years. Losing is like an addiction. Just like drugs. Last year we got off of that addiction. Now it seems the Cowboys are right back into it again. How depressing.

Ok Jason Garrett, I am sure that you have looked at film of the boys vs patriots. Looking at film of Weeden after his throws, especially after his touchdown miss ot a wide open T Williams, the confidence, look in his eyes that you see in a champion isnt there. Even Weeden said he rushed throws, you need to make a change Coach Garrett to give this team a spark, dont announce who is starting QB though, so you can catch the Giants off guard.

Its been way over a month for punt returned and kickoff returner, we need whitehead to do this, not anybody else that could be suspect to injury like dunbar, you have 2 special team coaches, you should have whitehead ready by now, do your job and your coaches do their job.

You had an excellent game plan at first half against the patriots on defense, you need to have plays ready to counter after their halftime adjustment. Double check your halftime adjustments and be ready. You need better halftime adjustments to be ready for what teams will do against your first half adjustments, with different schemes when possible.

Don't be surprised if the post-Romo era starts with Jerry Jones throwing a boatload of wad to acquire Matthew Stafford. Just my prediction.

Cassel won't make a lick of a difference.
