I think they are misusing the term, and what really must be happening is that he is starting to finally feel the results of the regeneration. That's my guess, that regeneration like you said, has been happening all along, but it's beginning to become apparent whether it be tingling, ability to lift the foot, or both.

He first said refiring then issued a clarification saying regenerating. Why did they have to clarify if it is in fact refiring? That's what makes this more confusing.

I would question the point of taking him off NFI at all if there wasn't any possibility for him to participate this year.
It is usually a pay issue but DAL was paying JSmith and McFadden the whole time anyways

This just keeps the hope alive for at 3 more weeks

You guys realize there is no new information in this article, except the Cowboys are "probably" going to take Smith off the NFI before the deadline tomorrow. This article is just trying to generate hits, and it's succeeding. As a matter of fact, it's based on and provides a link to another 247 article which says:

"Although Jones admits there's been no progress as of yet with Smith, he's willing to activate him with the hopes that, should the nerve in his knee regenerate, they'll be able to potentially see him take the field this year."

I love how people are on here keeping others excitement "in check".... its like some get off on the misery of Jaylons injury and want to prove either A: Dallas was dumb for drafting Jaylon or B: They were right Jaylon is never going to heal or play well again.

Just shut up and be happy.

it was over tomorrow without letting him practice.......it is big news to give him 3 more weeks......if there was no chance they could simply shut him down and change nothing

Not counting on him to ever play for this team, or any other. It was a horrific injury that still has a big question mark attached to it. I pray he can come back from it & play for us, but counting on it would be foolish. Hopefully, we'll know a lot more come spring, & can make some educated decisions come FA & the draft regarding the position.
