Nope.

You should know my stance on Prescott.

You seem pretty positive that they jettison him.
What have they done that shows you or anyone that they are going to extend him?

Let me list the reasons they aren't:

1. They haven't even attempted to get better this offseason. They are giving up on next season.
2. All the players and coaches are on 1 year deals. McCarthy is gone after the season. A new coach will more likely than not want a new QB.
3. They restructured him in the off-season to free up a measly 5 million in cap space. If they would have extended him it would've free up 25 million in cap space.
4. Dak himself has went from "I'm confident a deal will get done" to "I can only control what I can control".
5. Why would Dak and France at this point not want to go into free agency? Dak would get more in free agency then he would from the Cowboys. All he needs is 2 stupid teams to get into a bidding war.
6. The Lance PR campaign is in full motion. The new shiny toy is here now.

The only thing that will save Dak's job in Dallas is winning a Super Bowl. We all know that is never going to happen.

I would say if Cowboys were really committed to signing him, it would be a done deal already because of the cap relief….
It's a win-win if they both wanted a deal. There's so low hanging fruit to improve this team with a little more cap. Cap relief means Dak and Jerry get a better team this year. And neither of them are getting any younger.

At least somebody here doesn't really want a deal.

Yes let’s keep doing what doesn’t work…

The Cowboys are stale and this year is a waste.
And........... way to wait this long to then sign him instead of creating cap space and trying to add a real piece or two in FA to build the strongest team possible for Dak.

Literally, it doesn't matter what decision they make, they usually find a way to mess it up.

If the goal was to bring Dak back all along, then the plan should have been to get him and Lamb signed ASAP, create a lot of cap space and go out and get even just one key FA.

The cynic in me says the Cowboys didn't want to sign either early because they want to continue to claim cap poor when FA started to then justify their complete inaction in FA.

asts as long as he can keep getting cream puff schedules.
LOL.....no such thing. Besides, three straight seasons of 12-5 are coz of cream puff schedules?.....c'mon. Just me, but I think he turned the corner a bit last season. Even his hardest critics noticed with the exception postseason, that he played at an ALL-PRO level last season but gets a lot of credit for that.

If you favor a team that's superior in the regular season and inferior in the playoffs, the Cowboys are for you! The Dallas Cowboys' FO simply isn't one of the best teams when it comes to their organizational leadership. They're more about hype than substance in far too many ways. When it comes to making money, they're among the perennial leaders of the NFL. When it comes to hoarding it, they're unbeatable. Spending isn't their thing. ;)

1) No one knows what “all-in” means still.

2) Also, who was he told by? The janitor? The cleaning lady? Some second tier individual who works in the personnel department? A member of the Cowboys IT staff? I doubt he has access to the main guys that matter.

You keep stating that he is gone after this year.

You may want to retract that statement.
There is a chance Dak Prescott, regardless of comments to the contrary, would like to leave the Cowboys organization and continue his career elsewhere. And the only thing that would convince him to stay is an offer of more compensation than any other team is willing to pay. Todd France has certainly set Dak up to make the decision to stay or leave with entirely his, and where to continue his career entirely his. It seems Dak is preparing to leave more than preparing to stay.

Words words words < Actions
Exactly.

If they were truly "all in" they would've extended him before free agency and used extra cap space to sign a couple of difference makers this team needed for a Superbowl run.

Always the caveat “with the exception of post season.” This sums it up to a tee.

Report reveals Cowboys’ stance on Dak Prescott contract
May 31, 2024
by Grey Papke

Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys have not fully committed to each other in recent public comments, but the Cowboys do not have any real doubts privately about their quarterback.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler said on Friday’s “NFL Live” that the Cowboys remain “all-in” on re-signing Prescott, and fully intend to prevent the quarterback from becoming a free agent in 2025.

Yes... because they would surely let it be known that they are waiting to see if Dak is worth the money right? That wouldn't turn out bad at all if they did that.... derp!

I guess we need to define “ what doesn’t work”.

Id argue Jethro thinks this is working delivering a relative and interesting product he can hype to continue record revenue.

And Prescott provides him a playoff contender despite the lack of success advancing deeper.

so let me get this straight, this is a no new news story, nothing's changed? something we've already discussed? just another thread on the same stuff.

literally this has happened all over the NFL Tua, chase, Jefferson, ayuk, HIGGENS, and others to name few..,

the DC are NOT the only ones who take time to negotiate and again there's an agent of player and an ownership involved you blame the ownership without any and i mean any inside knowledge on what the hold ups ARE?? HMM JONES HATER SIDES WITH PLAYERS, GOT IT...

but ihe innocent agents and players get a pass because sure let's just give them an open check let them fill in the contract themselves and just sign LMAO!!

no big deal, concede, overpay, and get a disappointing return, makes total business sense vs trying to get the best deal possible in a HARD salary cap league...

It’s unbelievable the amount of hate for a guy who led the team to one of the best offenses in the league WITHOUT an NFL level running game. I laugh at their hate filled ignorance.

It's unbelievable the amount of Gushing/Knee Pads for a guy who Chokes with some of the best offensive weapons at his Disposal WITH Tony Pollard as his back . I laugh at the DakDavidians and their inflated ignorance

This is the Joneses reacting to all the negativity from the fans. It is meaningless chatter.
Apparently this was told behind the scenes. Just Jerry Rambling to a question. Big nothing burger
