Exactly.

If they were truly "all in" they would've extended him before free agency and used extra cap space to sign a couple of difference makers this team needed for a Superbowl run.
Only thing they seem all in on is giving Dak 1 more "prove it" season. If we start 2-5 and he looks lost against tough defenses again, he's toast.

Maybe. Maybe not.

But those expecting a “full blown rebuild!” Were never going to get it.

Do yourself a favor and look at the Free Agent QB class next year and the draft class. If you don’t get Ewers it’s a weak class. They aren’t wasting two years waiting for a QB.

They will wait. Sign Dak and Lamb to max contracts as they’ll be the last to sign. Nothing different was ever expected to happen. People thinking it will do not know this front office
Ewers the only QB prospect worthy to you?
There's a few guys rated equal to or better than him - Carson Beck and Shedeur Sanders to name a couple.

Yes let’s keep doing what doesn’t work…

The Cowboys are stale and this year is a waste.
In order for them to sign Prescott now, they likely would need to do the exact same shorter top dollar contract with a no trade and such.

That would be continuing to do what has not worked.

Of course they will. Jerry and Stephen talk tough and do mental gymnastics with the media only to inevitably sign the deal dak and his agent want in the long run. The longer they wait usually the more they pay too. Almost every big negotiation they’ve handled has ended in the player getting what they want. This will be no different.

Same thing is happening with Ceedee right now. Longer it goes the more he’ll get too.

And the stance sounds like negotiation posturing. If they were all in they would have given France what he is asking.

If you would pay attention you would know as it seems you’re the only one who doesn’t know.
Oh really, is that why people thought it meant that the Cowboys were going all-in during free agency? Or that they were going all-in by getting Dak, Micah, and Lamb signed as quickly as possible? Or that they are all-in by just letting the contracts play out this year?

If you buy anything the Jones’s say as genuine, forthright, sincere, clear, without indirection, etc., and without the ability to be modified post facto, you probably bought that bridge.

This falls in line with what most of the local noise has been from the Star, Dak and beat writers.

The fact it hasn’t been done yet is the only factor which is supporting the naysayers.
The fact that the naysayers can see the obvious lack of talent In Daks play is the primary observation factor and reason why most are finally waking up to the fact that Dak is Dak and he won't be back, he wants to entertain FA and Jerry is ready to eat it.
Just an average to good NFL starting caliber QB, which means he would love to entertain free agency in a QB desperate league.
Don't care about the politics anymore with Dak one way or another, be a champ or pack your bags chump.

Before you Debby downers and anti Dakkers get yall panties in a wad I don’t think this confirms anything we didn’t know. He still doesn’t have a deal…..until then you guys keep hope alive. There’s still a cheese your prayers will be answered. And who knows maybe Dak will be for one who leaves?
Does the "all in" in this article on keeping Dak the same "all in" we heard about making a SB run again this season?

you've seen how all in we've been so far

I guess we need to define “ what doesn’t work”.

Id argue Jethro thinks this is working delivering a relative and interesting product he can hype to continue record revenue.

And Prescott provides him a playoff contender despite the lack of success advancing deeper.
I really never thought there was any way they would ever let him walk away and enter into 2000-2005 again voluntarily.

It makes the Lance trade make even less sense, but again…I’d wager nearly anything that wasn’t much more than Jerry playing with his toy. He couldn’t wait to boast of how he did it all himself and no one else knew.

It's shocking that the Cowboys and the NFL's evaluation of Dak does not match those of the 15 to 20 experts on this forum.

I think they actually fear Dak leaving because they live, eat, drink, eat, and sleep hating on the guy. The obsession is real. At this point he is affecting their mental health.

Personally, if Dak stays he stays, if he goes he goes. I am not worried about being right or wrong in front of a bunch of strangers on the internet.

In the meantime I root for Dak so long as he is the quarterback of the team I root for, the Cowboys. Once he is gone I will root for the next QB. Simple as that.

Is this as on-point as the reports that we were definitely set to sign a bunch of free agents like, two months ago? There isn't a single "insider" at the Star or anywhere else that I take seriously.

Funny you post this. Was just now sitting here thinking how I truly don’t care one way or the other if they retain him or not. I do not fully believe they can’t win with him, even with the big salary, nor would I mind if they have several down years before landing the next QB.

I am not at all content with just being a contender, but with this front office, the idea of nailing a first round QB on a rookie deal who is ready to play immediately and then spending the savings on multiple free agents is some sort of ridiculous pipe dream.

There’s just no way these two walk away from Prescott voluntarily and risk being exposed. A rebuild with the two clowns running it wouldn’t be pretty, but they do indeed deserve to be humiliated. Prescott prevents that, and Todd France knows all about it.

They have said all offseason that they are saving cap money to resign CeeDee, Dak, and Parsons. I believe the slow process is to keep the Cowboys in the media cycle. Unfortunately Jerry does not understand how to get the Cowboys in the NFCCG but he is a master at clicks and marketing.

That $40 million DK cap hit in 2025 is gonna hurt.

No way that add to it by giving Dak another $.

Not being able to cash in any of those seasons with a conference title game appearance is an NFL record of shame. An all time fail.
Another 12 win season would be outstanding especially if they win in the playoffs. To top it off they are expected to be even better in 2025. If everything goes well it will make a lot of you look ridiculous.

Dak haters in pain. They're gonna wake up one day in the next 9 months to news of Dak's newly minted big fat contract.

Even with the $40 million cop hit next season, the Cowboys will still have &100 million in cap space and plenty of draft picks to work with. The 40 million cap hit is nothing compared to the Packers last season with Rodgers 80 million hit.
