amen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!He prioritizes stopping the run. That would be a step up from relying only on sacks/INTs
Hence is why he will be our next DCAwful choice. Par for the course though.
perfectly saidNot a fan but its a move I expect. They won't hire a young guy. So if they are going to hire someone who's a "name" then you can do worse.
feels so goodInteresting. Rappaport and Rivera have a "close" relationship. They joke about it all the time here in the DC area on the radio. If Rappaport had a Commanders related scoop via "sources", it likely came straight from Rivera. Same thing with Mike Shanahan and Adam Schefter.
So putting 2 and 2 together, this likely came straight from Ron.
It's the Cowboys FO that actually does the "flip-flopping" of conservative versus aggressive defensive coordinators and\or head coaches.People were enamored with Parcells and his conservative approach. Between James bulking up and Ayodele, we had 2 ILBs who played in the 260 range.
We could stop the run.
Middle of the defense got exposed in passing game.
When Parcells didn’t come back, the fan base was excited because Wade was more aggressive. He was willing to trade giving up big plays to make big plays.
Then we failed to win under him, people wanted conservative again. And we have done both cycles again …. With Kiffin. And Quinn.
Now we are wanting to get back on the conservative track. Apparently.
Give that a few years and this fan base will flip flop. Again.
Read up a bit more. I was initially a fan when he was in Baltimore, even though his defense sometimes gave up leads late and had some suspect collapses. His scheme is not great at getting sacks and requires elite man on man CBs because it’s a cover zero and the pressure comes from blitzing. In his last year there, he became exposed a bit. I know people are going crazy over any use of the zone last year but the Eagles WRs are traditionally great against man coverage so I think it’s important to u deer and that with Wink it’s all man to man.I like the DC from the Giants. He had an up and down year last year with limited talent. But put together some pretty good games. I'd like to see what he could do with his aggressive style and this talent.
Just asked the question .....LOLInteresting. Rappaport and Rivera have a "close" relationship. They joke about it all the time here in the DC area on the radio. Zone with a bunch of cover 3. Not a lot of blitzing. His Carolina defenses were terrific but that’s a long time ago now. What scheme does he run? I know he played in Buddy Ryan's 46 scheme.
In other words, sell him if you can (lol)
Bend but don't break? (lol)Zone with a bunch of cover 3. Not a lot of blitzing. His Carolina defenses were terrific but that’s a long time ago now.
Dislike.Hence is why he will be our next DC
he's the head coach not the DCZone with a bunch of cover 3. Not a lot of blitzing. His Carolina defenses were terrific but that’s a long time ago now.
Washington’s defense was bad. He had a bad year and while he’s a “name”, I’m not seeing him as a standout choice at all.
Could do worse I suppose but we could definitely do better.
Well, he fired his DC and ran the defense down the stretch and was terrible.he's the head coach not the DC
Maybe they don’t want to get rid of him. Ever think of that before you started crapping all over everything? Also not sure why Dallas is treating DQ like he has any leverage here. They’re basically going to sit on their hands and wait to see *if* he gets a HC job and if not welcome him back with open arms? If you don’t want him, get rid of him now. This team is way too reactionary instead of being proactive
