We have a D coordinator. His name is Wade.

I'm guessing anyone who gets hired for that job is going to be in name only. I don't expect a big name. Perhaps an internal hire. Someone who will get the title, but Wade will run the show.

Well, Wade/JJ wanted Capers last year, but Stewart didn't.

I think Capers is a real possibility.

I think Garrett and Jerry wanted Capers more than Wade did. And of course Stewart cried a rivr over the whole thing.

I wonder if Capers had been on the staff all along if Wade would have been canned after that STL debacle, with Garrett being promoted then.

Totally ignoring the fact that the Ginger wanted his pal BJ here...

As a backup. So unless you can say Garrett want Romo to get hurt so Garrett could let BJ play that doesnt mean anything

Even as backup it was a terrible decision that is on Garrett.

I was in favor of Garrett leaving as it probably gets Wade out of here.

However, getting Spagnuolo out of the division is a big plus.

Well there goes the theory of Garrett leaving. So what now with Shanahan? Are we going to let T.O go since Garrett is not leaving or are we firing Garrett? Let me know what you think?

Or the NFL is starting to realize what a hack he is.
Yup. Our offense will underperform once again. The players will revolt. This is the worst news possible right now.

This sucks! Jerry has proved he's an idiot once again....if Garrett comes back as OC or HC we will be watching 4 other teams this time tomorrow next year!

Agreed.

The only thing worse would be a promotion for Campo.

Then 2009 is officially a wasted season.

The GiantsNew York Giants knew this day could happen and hoped it would not. They learned today that their valued defensive coordinator, Steve Spagnuolo, is gone after two memorable seasons, as he was hired to be the head coach of the Rams, according to numerous reports.

Spagnuolo, 49, left an indelible mark with the Giants. As a rookie coordinator he shook off a shaky start to assemble a rugged defense that helped carry the Giants to victory in Super Bowl XLII. After that triumph, he nearly left for the Commanders but decided to return to the Giants. His second season was even better, as the Giants raced to an 11-1 record and appeared poised for a repeat title. Things went awry in the final month, culminated with the 23-11 playoff loss to the Eagles, but Spagnuolo remained a top candidate. He interviewed with the Browns, JetsNew York Jets , Broncos, Lions and this past Thursday with the Rams. His friendship with new Rams GM Billy Devaney no doubt was a big factor in the decision to hire Spagnuolo and sign him to a four-year, $11.5 million contract.

The Giants are now in the market for a new coach to run their defense. The strongest candidate on their staff appears to be linebackers coach Bill Sheridan, who just completed his fourth year with the Giants. Sheridan has not been a coordinator at any level, having worked extensively in the college ranks before coming to the Giants in 2005. Another possibility is secondary coach Peter Giunta, who was the defensive coordinator of the Rams when they won the Super Bowl in the 1999 season.
