Also, the notion that Wentz has better mechanics than Prescott is a total reach too. Wentz has come under criticism for some sloppy mechanics in recent weeks. He even admitted it publicly that he had things to clean up in some bad games.

Also, to say he's a much better athlete and faster is a stretch too. Anyone who watches both can see that Prescott is a better runner than Wentz. Wentz is very mobile especially for a guy his size but Prescott is clearly the more accomplished and polished runner. So to conclude Wentz is faster or a better athlete is just Dak hate IMO.

Wentz can do those things as well. But yea let's continue to pretend we havent seen Dak make bad decisions and have problems with accuracy

Why straw man here? I didn't come close to saying Dak has been perfect in those areas. You completely skipped the point. Prescott has been better at those things this year - and they are part of talent. I find Prescott to be more talented there.

Im not missing the point. You and most on here are pointing to Dak's stats and formulating an opinion based on these stats and the fact that he's a Cowboy.
Going by that criteria (Daks superior stats), Dak is more talented than:

Wentz
Winston
Mariota

And a slew of other QBs his numbers are better than. The Cowboys themselves thought Wentz, Lynch, and even Cook was more talented than Dak. A little over half a season wont change my opinion.

Wentz's numbers would be better here instead of Philly and Daks would be worse in Philly. Would the fact his numbers would be lower change your opinion on who is more talented?

Notice I never used a stat. I trust my eyeball test.

Ok.

Back to your regularly scheduled avalanche.

And if thats your opinion, thats fine.

Many in here are pointing to QBR and completion % as proof Dak is more talented, and thats not a fair way to judge

I'm not basing my opinion on stats alone; not even close, and I've never suggested that. Where are you getting it from?
I've watched every single game from both of them. Nothing, anywhere, suggest Wentz is more accurate or makes better decisions than Prescott. Not stats, and not tape.

You're letting pre-draft talk and which pick guys were cloud your judgement. None of that matters now. Prescott is a top-10 pick if everyone knew then what they know and see now. So tell me why Prescott isn't just as talented as those guys, based on what you've seen. He's accurate with a good (not great) arm, reads defenses incredibly well (fast learner, great student of the game), very athletic, strong runner, and, perhaps most importantly, is an incredible decision maker. Regular stats, advanced stats, and evaluators all agree with those things.

Of course Wentz's stats would be improved if he played in Dallas, and of course Prescott's numbers wouldn't be as good in Philly as they are in Dallas. But that has nothing to do with the discussion.

That is opinion. Only Dak knows how he'll play in Philly, same for Wentz in Dallas.

We will agree to disagree.

It's no secret or earthshattering to suggest that Wentz would have better numbers if he had Elliott, this OL and a plethora of options in the passing game.

Would those stats be better than Dak's though? That's the question that no one can answer.

Not even sure why we are debating who is better. We are 10 -1 and Wentz plays on a team that doesn't have the weapons like we do. Let it go.

Wentz is more talented and might be the better qb when its all said done, but at the end of the day Id rather have Dak+Zeke instead of just Wentz
This notion that Wentz is just more talented, but his supporting cast doesn't let the overall talent come to fruition is pitifully ridiculous. Sure, Wentz has talent, but to come out and declare Carson is better, face value, holds no water. Are the numbers hollow? Not to me regarding either QB. Dak is doing everything asked of him and more with his supporting cast. Does that mean if the roles were reversed that Wentz would light it up in Dallas? Nope. Circumstance does not dictate outcome.

Dak is proving to be a franchise QB week in and week out. If Wentz was more superior to Dak, then his numbers would be better with what he has to work with. Not the case!

Based on just about everything.

Wentz is bigger, faster, better arm, and better mechanics.

There's a reason most had Wentz graded as a first round pick and dak as a mid-round pick.
Yes thats correct, but a great qb has to be able to read the field, command a offence and I believe Dak has it over Wentz.

Wentz and other QB's cited in this discussion may be more talented than Dak, but Dak has proven so far he is the better QB. Only other comparisons to his poise and performance this year are Marino and Big Bens rookie campaigns, more so Big Bens.

Lot of intangibles go into becoming a great QB, talent alone wont do it, Some of the greatest OBs of all time were mid to late round picks Unitas, Montana, Brady.....and Roger...but he would have been higher if not for the Navy commitment.

I like Dak. I wouldn't trade Dak for Wentz at this point.

But this really is a fairly unfair comparison at this point.

Dak wouldn't be dominating if his starting WRs were Dorial Green-Beckham, Bryce Treggs and Jordan Matthews and he'd be handing the ball off to Wendel Smallwood.

Would Montana be one of the all time greats without Jerry Rice? Would Brady be the greatest QB ever without Belichick? Its all assumptions. What we know is that Brady is indeed the best ever.

Because they're rookie QBs from the same draft class in the same division.
We're going to be debating who's better until we die.
