These guys are like mirror images of each other in so many ways. They both didn't really get to play till their 3rd or 4rth year, one being injuries, the other grooming. Aside from that they play the same game, have about the same talent. They both try to force the ball, they both make big plays as well as bad plays in the same fashion. The style of game they play is so identical it's amazing.

Rex Grossman winning the Super Bowl really makes me feel good about our team having a shot next year. We just gotta get another CB to back up or replace Henry if he moves to safety, we need another big body NT to challenge Fergy, we need another MLB, and we need a Guard to replace Rivera. Get these things taken care of and we are in!!!:starspin:starspin

Am I the only person who thinks Grossman and Romo are similiar???

They do have similar traits - and they both do alot of stupid things. Grossman just can't seem to read a defense to save his life, and alot of his INTs come because he madee a bad read, then zipped it to a guy without looking. He hates checking down, and struggles at doing much more than just winging it.

Romo has shown an ability to read defenses, make great throws to the third or fourth read very quickly, improvise, etc. But, towards the end of the season, they both looked ALOT alike.

There was something a few of us had together (I think it was mainly percyhoward) that showed how tough of a situation we were putting Romoo in late. Food for thought.

They have the same potential talent yet both lack experience. Give em 3 years of uninterrupted play and then we will see consistency..

Romo was the reason we made it to the playoffs.

You put Grossman in Dallas and he wouldnt even out play Bledsoe.

If Grossman was our Quarterback then we'd be drafting in the top 10 thats what im saying.

Our defense wouldnt have been able to support Grossman and our offensive line sure as heck couldnt give him the same protection the Bears Oline has.

Grossman would have never got on the field over Bledsoe either.

Even though they said Romo struggled down the stretch he still had 2 games with a QB rating over 100 in his last 4.

Romo is just the better Quarterback.

Wow - this is so incorrect it's scary.

Rex Grossman has some of the worst foot work I've seen since Bledsoe.

He reads downfield first before checking down, and hates to checkdown, whereas Romo is tentative about throwing downfield and checks down to mid-range constantly.

Grossman's mental clock is crap - if he doesn't have 6-7 seconds, he is going to screw up. Romo's is off sometimes, but his release is infinitely better.

Grossman is more accurate downfield, whereas his short game is garbage. Romo is more accurate short to medium, whereas his deep ball drops off in accuracy.

These QBs are far from identical.

Thats basically the Quincy Carter scouting report for Rex Grossman and if you think about it they are a lot alike.

And I dont even know if Grossman is any better on the deep ball than Romo I just think thats the only pass he can throw with confidence and just about the only pass he ever has success with or even throws.

1st of all Romo hasn't played a full season so you really haven't seen all of his short comings. I agree Romo has better footwork and that Chicago has a better O-line but these two guys play the same style of game. I'm not 100% sure Romo has a better arm than Grossman. Anybody wanna tackle that one??

I already did, in saying that Grossman's deep ball is superior to Romo's.

Grossman has much better arm strength than Romo. Easily.

It is - he isn't perfect at it, but he's pretty good at the deep ball. The problem is that he is over confident with it.

He would throw downfield every play if his coaches let him. The thing is, it's HARD to get open deep, especially when they know it is coming, and he will try to get the ball there in a cover two, which get's him in trouble some times.

But if the guy is open one on one, he has a pretty good chance of getting it to the WR. He really is very Bledsoe-esque.

Grossman only threw for 290 more yards in 6 more games than Romo. Grossman has 480 attempts to Romos 337.

Also Grossman threw 23 TD's to Romos 19 in 6 more games.

Grossman would have got blown out of the water had Romo had 6 more games and Grossman had a defense that could create lots of turnovers and one of the best offensive lines in football.

I dont even think they are comparable in any way really.

I only drink Scotch if I'm smoking a cigar. I figure if I am going to feel like hell, I might as well go all the way.:laugh2:

That being said - I was trying to find Maker's Mark, but couldn't. Hard to come by on the W. Coast.
