They do have similar traits - and they both do alot of stupid things. Grossman just can't seem to read a defense to save his life, and alot of his INTs come because he madee a bad read, then zipped it to a guy without looking. He hates checking down, and struggles at doing much more than just winging it.

Romo has shown an ability to read defenses, make great throws to the third or fourth read very quickly, improvise, etc. But, towards the end of the season, they both looked ALOT alike.

There was something a few of us had together (I think it was mainly percyhoward) that showed how tough of a situation we were putting Romoo in late. Food for thought.

while I would agree w/ that, the biggest difference is that the Bear's D has been playing great all year long, Grossman has had no need to be this bad w/ the football, while Romo was trying to pick up for the inadequacies of our D, and to the OP suggesting Grossman and Romo have the same talent, shame on you, witness 3 series ago Grossman trying to scramble, 1st he bumps into his own lineman, then runs as fast as Drew Bledsoe, nearly tossing an INT

These guys are like mirror images of each other in so many ways. They both didn't really get to play till their 3rd or 4rth year, one being injuries, the other grooming. Aside from that they play the same game, have about the same talent. They both try to force the ball, they both make big plays as well as bad plays in the same fashion. The style of game they play is so identical it's amazing.

Rex Grossman winning the Super Bowl really makes me feel good about our team having a shot next year. We just gotta get another CB to back up or replace Henry if he moves to safety, we need another big body NT to challenge Fergy, we need another MLB, and we need a Guard to replace Rivera. Get these things taken care of and we are in!!!:starspin:starspin

Am I the only person who thinks Grossman and Romo are similiar???

You can't put this fakemeout quarterback Grossman in the same category as Romo because of the simple fact Romo haven't being fumbling and throwing interceptions all season. Rex has been a total disappointment all season. Lovie Smith pride is just taking his job from up under him.

We better get Ron Rivera before the Bears figure out who's the real mind behind that Bears defense.

Grossman isnt even on Romo's level.

The only thing Rex is better at is his arm strength, and deep ball.

The only similarity these guys have is their tenure in the NFL in terms of playing experience...

If you were to ask 31 HC who they would rather have with the ball, you wouldn't get a near 50-50 split...

Romo is a much better all-around player

Romo beat the Colts. Grossman didn't. I'd take Romo over Grossman in a heartbeat. Only good thing about the Colts winning the Super Bowl is the fact that I can still say that the Boys beat them this year.

In the last 5 games Romo played, when supposedly Sean Payton *figured out* Romo, Romo still wound up with an 83.7 QB rating. So much for Romo "being exposed.*

Romo has shown the ability to read defenses on the short and intermediate stuff and scan through his reads. Grossman has shown the ability that he's only good at making the deep ball throw or the 1 read short throw, the easiest reads in the NFL.

Grossman at his worst has been far, far worse than Romo at his worse this season.

Turnover Rex that is.......if you are a Colts fan.

I wonder if the Bears now look to the draft for a QB or maybe even FA....

Romo had much better weapons. You can't really accurately compare the two QB's until you let Grossman throw to TO, Glenn, and Witten. I think Romo is better however.

Pretty much the thing with Grossman is that he can't make the intermediate throw directly in front of him. He can't throw the intermediate In route, crossing routes, deep slants, any of the stuff that makes a good QB good.

Look for Garcia to come in with the promise to be able to compete for a starting job. Chicago will probably draft a QB for the future as well.

You also can't accuratly compare 2 qb's unless they have the same oline, and Defense.

By your logic, you can never compare 2 qb's unless they have the exact same personnel.

No qb is going to have the same set of cercumstances, you have to learn to adapt.

You can't accurately compare them. You would need equivalent coaching staffs as well. Neither one of these guys is a franchise QB. Romo doesn't have the size or the arm. Grossman lacks alot more than that.

Nope, unfortunately for us.

I'm surprised we didn't see his back up (Griese?) in there after Sanders' INT.
