Yes: But if I were them and I had an oline like they do i'd rather bring in Drew Bledsoe.

Bledsoe is still a weapon if you give him time to throw the ball.

To be honest, I didn't take the time to read the other posts on this thread. But, Grossman is horrible. How the hll is he a starting QB in this league. #1, he doesn't look to see if he his receivers are open. #2, he can't hold on to the *** ball. #3, he showed no leadership poise in the championship game. Urlacher is the leader of the Bears. The QB should ALWAYS be the leader of the team. Grossman was just that, a gross man pretending to be a QB.

Now that Grossman got exposed in the Super Bowl let's all talk about how much better Romo is. :lmao2:

Homerism is the best kinda goggles a man can wear. Inspite of that I hope you guys are right!!!!;) Viva Romo!!!!:starspin:starspin

Most people on this board thought Grossman stunk before the superbowl? Did you watch the Arizona game? Jets game? Patriots game? This guy has no business being a starting QB in the NFL. The Bears reached the superbowl in spite of him.

In all honesty, I don't see how the Bears can go into the season with Grossman as their QB next year.

If Brady turned in a Super Bowl performance like Grossman did tonight, he'd get some criticism, and then everyone would move on because he's proven himself many times over.

If Manning turned in a performance like that, he'd get a lot more heat and face the wrath of the "choker" label, but no one would seriously consider getting rid of him in Indy given how good he's been.

If Brees turned in a performance like that, he'd get knocked for it and would be under scrutiny as a young guy who couldn't handle the limelight in his first big chance, but he'd still be the unquestioned starter in New Orleans next year.

But Grossman--man, all year long, even after wins, the fans were griping about him. And now he laid a turd the size (and odor) of Philly. I seriously don't see how he can be the leader of this team next year. Every single little fault--and I mean EVERY fault--is going to be booed and criticized and he is going to be constantly harassed, even when things are going well. It's not going to be healthy for him or for the team.

I don't know when his contract is up, but I think he'd be well served to look elsewhere if a good situation is available to him. I think life in Chicago is going to be hell for him.

Grossman definitely had a bad game. He also had a number of bad games this season and that begins to add up, particularly when you have a defense of Chicago's caliber. Lovie stuck with him probably longer than he should have in the game but Grossman frequently did just enough this season for them to win. I think they will have a competition in camp for the starting job. Chicago has someone capable of starting as the backup right now. I don't think they'll go with a rookie because of the quality of the rest of the team.

That being said, there is always a chance at redemption in the NFL. A few good games and the fans will come back to Rex. Where would he have a better chance to succeed? He needs to learn and improve.....in Chicago. It could happen.

The folks at ESPN might mention the whole Grossman thing a time or two during the off-season. Ya think?

Wow - this is so incorrect it's scary.

Rex Grossman has some of the worst foot work I've seen since Bledsoe.

He reads downfield first before checking down, and hates to checkdown, whereas Romo is tentative about throwing downfield and checks down to mid-range constantly.

Grossman's mental clock is crap - if he doesn't have 6-7 seconds, he is going to screw up. Romo's is off sometimes, but his release is infinitely better.

Grossman is more accurate downfield, whereas his short game is garbage. Romo is more accurate short to medium, whereas his deep ball drops off in accuracy.

These QBs are far from identical.

Exactly right!

Glad you spoke up CR.

This thread is definite short-bus material.

Lack of experience shows in big games and what isn't popular around here is that we are in a similiar situation with Romo, hence the mirror image.

Everybody has got to go thru the growing pains. I just hope our's go bye more quickly:D

rex and romo aren't alike. if romo was their qb, they would've went 16-0 this year.

Rex Grossman is obviously the weak link on the Bears. He is still a young Quarterback in terms of games played.

I really think you have to put some of the blame on his teachers and the guy who calls the offensive gameplan. The Bears Offensive scheme is extremely mundane and easy to scheme against.

During the broadcast last night before kickoff, one of the announcers said the Colts defense was shocked while watching film at how many times they throw the ball deep again and again and again.

Bears Offensive Playcalling = Tecmo Bowl. Run the ball up the middle with the same play or go deep.

I concur, if they hadn't panicked and started chunking the ball up, they may not have thrown those 2 picks and Manning would be eating a big bowl of ice cream right now:D
