Jff. I think. I still believe he has the talent and I normally wouldn't care if a guy chose to smoke crack as long as his job wasn't affected. However, Jff's drinking seems to affect his job performance and dedication. So I'm not sure. Maybe Rg3 has something but he needs some read option. I think.

I would not touch manziel with a 10 ft pole. no, lets make it a 100 ft pole.

he has proven over and over again, he can't keep himself straight. he is not dedicated and he has been below average on the field. he has no future in the NFL except for whatever reason he gets the hype.

RG3 is much better candidate. he may have had a high opinion of himself. but he is dedicated, works hard. tries to prepare, and I think he is ready to step back and learn. much more talented. better leader. all of manziel's team mates quit on him. manziel is a loser in the NFL

Manziel is just a kid. He does have a chance of maturing and becoming a good player.

If i have to choose one, RG3. He has a better head on his shoulders. I would choose no backup first though.

I wouldn't touch Johnny football with a 10 foot pole.

I would definitely bring in RGIII on a prove-it deal like we've had in the past. RGIII has the superior arm, speed, and character.
He has two years at least to sit behind Romo and see if he can perform in our system. I don't care for the rookie QBs in this draft. Tell me one of them that would even be in the top 10 last year or in recent years. Both Lynch and Goff are coming out before they should because its such a weak QB class.

If RGIII doesn't pan out, you can draft guys like Lynch, Goff, and Wentz most years in the middle of round 1 or later. If he does get it together and recapture his magic behind an OL that doesn't get him killed, we just hit the jackpot at QB and with whatever we turn this year's #4 into.

To me, it's a no-brainer. You can still take one of the developmental QB's in rounds 2-5. If the absolute best QB in the draft falls to #4, then maybe you go ahead and select him, but no way I want to spend #4 on the 2nd or 3rd best QB in a weak class.

Not as long as everyone enables him at every turn. Dallas would be one big enabling destination for him. He has to hit rock bottom. Unfortunately, not many places are as rock bottom as Cleveland so he may have to sit out of the league for a few years before he gets serious about football.

Keep in mind that if the report, http://news.yahoo.com/cowboys-reportedly-parting-ways-greg-023337700.html, is true for the reason Hardy will not be back...it kind of leads one to think that Johnny is no longer on the table. Just something to consider.

It seems to me Jerry is allowing Jason to run the team's discipline if that report is true. It was clear when the year ended that Jason was non-comittal as far as bringing Hardy back. That doesnt mean Jerry will find a bargain like Manziel unappealling. He prides himself at finding bargains and former 1st rounders all the time.

Can we direct snap to the RBs instead? Or possibly buy a cardboard cut out of Tony and stand it in the backfield?

Manziel, even with all the off field stuff aside, doesn't have the skill set or dedication to play in this league. He doesn't watch film, he doesn't study a playbook. He's just a big joke.

RGIII has at least produced in this leauge. Obviously, things went south with him in Washington. He's damaged goods, but at least he will work on his game.

No he doesn't. The kid still hasn't figured out the simple premise business before pleasure. His playing style is incredibly reckless just like Romo when he entered the league. The difference? Romo was far more mature than he was and it still took Romo years to get that under control. Manziel isn't even remotely mature and he needs that before he can work on his complete and utter recklessness so he can be an effective QB. When will he become a quality started QB? When he is 38?

Yeah, no. I'll pass.

I agree with most of this except one thing about RGIII. RGIII has an ego problem. He thinks he is still the smartest guy in the room. He is just like a very smart 20something IT guy. They think that know it all, but haven't yet been seasoned by experience. Therefore they step into the same traps over and over again. The problem for RGIII IMO is by the time he figures that out, he will be completely broken physically. He is already almost there.

Yeah, he could still be that guy. He seems to have calmed down since being deactivated, so maybe it was a wakeup call. Again, it's an unknown and that's why he will be available.
