I think I like this deal for Dallas. A 4th round pick to get a 1st round QB is worth the risk. The question is, why did Lance struggle in SF? Maybe the Cowboys see something where they think they can help him. Certainly sitting behind Dak while he matures is a good thing. The Cowboys don't need him right away, but showed Lance they want him so maybe the change of scenery helps him.

The Cowboys needed this. Having Rush and Grier as backups was not a good thing. They needed a young developmental player behind Rush. Had they drafted one in the 4th round, he probably would not have the talent level of Lance.

I am usually critical of Jerry's trades but I think this one was not a bad deal even if Lance does not work out.

Ok so I guess this is the "bombshell" surprise additions BB was talking about? I'm wondering why we felt the need to give up a draft pick for a 3rd stringer at best this year when we have glaring needs elsewhere like, IDK maybe O-Line? Dak was a 4th rounder right? So this is not a throw away draft pick IMO. And I don't mean Dak is a throw away...the opposite
