So many prisoner of the moment comments. Dowdle, is looking good, but let's pump the brakes on his HOF jacket.

Rico would be my No.3 RB in 2025.
As there's nothing superlative about him. He's not dynamic. not special burst, special power, or special elusive, he's not a special ace pass catcher
He's just serviceable. He blocks and does just a bi of this and that.

I'd love to do the Lions theme with two splash backs - and a Rico as quality depth.

But nowadays with as dismel as our run game and scheme as been, .we'll easily take the 100 yds vs porous defense from Rico.

tap the breaks guys: The Giants were 29th against the run, the Bengals 23rd and the Panthers 32nd by a wide margin
We've played 3 of the worst defenses in the league and now all is good. Rico could be a fine backup. He does look like a hall of famer next to Zeke though.

Oh, winning starter status on the Dallas Cowboys means nothing. Rootie toot toot. I prefer Hoooooah! Myself....cry in your beers.

If only our owner/gm didn’t force a washed up Zeke to play early in the year.

Lol...I said Ricos style reminded me of Emmitt in the game thread and got ridiculed.
Not by me! I agree. He's got a burst but not speed and he doesn't go down easy. I'm not saying he's on that level but there are similarities.

I've been saying it for years. Our problems definitely starts with our coaches and their stubbornness.
Rico will be even more valuable down the stretch. Always been saying......sometimes attempts are just as valuable as yardage.
And the OL has been far better than early. Rico will certainly be at higher cost next year and in need of RB2.

We're witnessing a more balanced attack......look at the rushing attempts. Outside of Cooper slinging it 50+ times recently, we've been with a ball control offense. Why now Big Mike?
We also feast on bad teams. Our D performed yesterday, grabbed 4 turnovers and sacks galore. Can we dispel that in the next 3 games? D is a draft or FA need.
We targeted Cee Dee all day.......outside of both Jalen's getting TDs, where's the creativity in the passing game Big Mike? TB loves to blitz, what now? Need a consistent WR2 next year.

As much as I like what Dowdle has done the last 3 weeks it’s pretty obvious to me the Cowboys running game got better when Martin went out with an injury. Hoffman, Bebe, Bass and Tyler deserve credit for this running game. I think Dowdle has been impressive but I would not give him a huge contract to resign.

Would have to agree here.

I know two sides have to agree but why didn't the Jones offer a 2 year contract worth 2.5 to 3.0 million with little guaranteed the 2nd year. Dowdle is a starting running back in the NFL and we could of had him under control cheap but the front office was short sided like most contract decisions the last 4 years. Think about this, what value contracts are on the roster now that aren't rookies and are signed for more then 1 year?

I actually like the kid but I don't see anything about his game that makes me step back and go, wow...this is a guy that you have to keep. He's not a game changing RB. If you can keep him on the cheap side and pair him up with a good rookie RB to use in tandem, then sure. That said, Jerry will probably sign him to a mega deal.

Rico's on track to go for around 1200 yards on 5 YPC.

Those are awesome numbers. He's been a bright spot in an otherwise tough year.

I would hand him a contract right now for 2 years $8 mil and then draft another back in the 3rd or 4th to pair with him.

Would you resign him? $7-10M range
