If the league is interested in protecting its players they need to outlaw that tackle where defenders launch themselves at the ball carrier's knee. How many blown up knees do we have to continue to see to understand this ain't a good thing.

Stephen Jones said, right after the draft. And to me, this is a stupid way to draft.
This was from his conference call with season ticket holders.

That they usually use the 7th round for project type players, ones injured that slipped, or PS type guys, as it's hard for them to make teams.
But since they did not have any 7th's, they used the 3 6th round picks they had for this.

Hmmm..to me this is insane, why not use those picks for players that can actually possibly make the team and help this year...oh well, it's why we lack depth....

So Brown, Jackson, Gathers are all projects. Looks like Brown will make the team, and if for any reason, by default for lack of better players. Jackson still has not impressed me, but I can see some potential. Gathers was PS all the way.
I prefer raw but high upside guys.

I don't want more Caleb McSurdy or even Devin Street types.

Gathers will likley be claimed if move to the PS. He worked out for 29 teams and is well known by scouts.

He won't last on the practice squad or on waivers. Someone will make a project out of him.

Benjamin Watson just tore his achilles in Baltimore. Wouldn't be surprised if they were watching closely, especially after we signed their recently cut QB.

I'd much rather have guys like Gathers who can become a potential Gronk than a scrub like Swaim who's already hit his ceiling.

When you pluck a player off another teams practice squad, you have to put him on your 53 man roster. For 2 weeks, I think.

Not sure any team would be willing to do that given how raw the guy is.

Anyone picking him up would keep him inactive as his blocking needs a ton of work. He simply doesn't have the technique. His athleticism is remarkable though.
I'm sick of hearing about blocking, Jay Novaceck is considered a GOAT around here and he sucked as a blocker. Why can't we use 2 TEs and have a blocker/receiver dynamic? This insistence on having 2 blocking TEs has us drafting one every year and not using them, Escobar is a playmaker yet he doesn't get look sbecause he's not a blocker.

Trade Escobar to the Ravens.

What WR are you taking off the field for the extra TE?

6'6" and 280 lbs. Can he rush the passer? Put him and Irving in to try and block FGs and PATs.

big strong dude with quick feet. I rather keep him around than Swaim. Swaim drops passes and isn't very good at blocking. I rather keep Geathers on potential. The guy is the size of some lineman and did u see the athleticism on that one catch and run?

Guys like this go on to break out for other teams like the Bears or Pats, but not in Dallas.

You already failed the pop quiz. The point of the PS is not simply to stash your "next 10 best guys".

Yeah, it's to put guys with potential. Gathers will be a free agent by the time he is a legit football player.

our whole late Rd draft strategy is ******** to say the least,We draft Jackson AFTER drafting Zeke.I assume they had a plan because exposing him to waivers is not the right plan.We used a 6th on Gathers,if we knew he was so raw then it was the wrong decision again especially since we have 4 TEs already. This FO is so messed up,they dont think clearly down the line while drafting.no wonder our roster is so depleted.

I don't think he woud be claimed by another team off the practice squad. I'm pretty sure if they did he would have to be on their 53 man roster. He isn't ready to play and those spots are really valuable to every team. I think they would be safe stashing him on the PS.
