Gavin Escobar was one of a string of TE's drafted to replace Jason Witten along with Anthony Fasano and Martellus Bennet. Their careers we put on hold and their opportunities denied as they learned that Jason was immortal. Witten was eventually replaced after a two-decade career by the lone survivor, Dalton Schultz.

As for Gavin Escobar, who survived testicular cancer as a freshman in college, he was more of a receiver and was not considered a strong blocker. He played 5 seasons in the NFL.

Gavin's best professional game was with Dallas against the Giants in 2014 when he caught three passes for 65 yards and two TD's.

Haven't thought of Escobar for a long time, but he was around for some of the best teams of the Romo era. It's very neat he decided to become a firefighter after his NFL career.
