Ripping the front office for no trades is hilarious

We have NO idea what the asking prices were for any of the players you would’ve wanted.

Which difference-making DT and CB were even available for trade? What would those teams have wanted in return?

As for WR, there are other teams with MUCH greater needs at WR (like the Giants and Packers)... and they didn’t trade for one either. You know why? Because the asking price was too high for them, just like it was for us.

If we traded a 1st and 2nd for Brandin Cooks, this board would’ve melted down because we gave up too much.

You and I are not privy to who’s available for draft picks. Players on the teams that are prepping for rebuild are what the FO could and should have been targeting. Teams don’t make this information publtc

Jerry said in his own words, “ we are going to sit back and let the offers come to us” ( paraphrasing). That’s real cut considering the real GMs in the league were out there being aggressive in making their teams better

at least one good thing has come out of this….you are happy with the receivers we have so I expect not to hear that excuse at anytime during the season or playoffs if Dak has bad games.

Man again thats a wierd good thing....nothing good about WR or the QB of the team you root for having bad games... seems a wierd good thing.

we’ve been accused of it and it’s beyond stale at this point.

“ I like to picture my Dakota having the 3 top receivers in the league and he’s got angels wings and he singing lead vocals for Lynard Skynard”……..

We were all DEAD WRONG about Cooper Rush. He’s been a fantastic backup.

We were all DEAD WRONG about Brett Maher. He’s been a fantastic kicker.

We were all DEAD WRONG about Noah Brown. He’s been rock solid filling in for Gallup/Washington.

We were all DEAD WRONG about Tyler Smith playing LT as a rookie. Remember how badly we wanted a vet replacement for Tyron Smith before Week 1? We got Jason Peters but he’s been nothing more than OG depth so far. Tyler has held his own.

We were all DEAD WRONG about Terence Steele at RT. This one maybe goes back a year.

The moral of the story: we’re 6-2 despite Dak missing 5 games and other adverse circumstances. That’s a HUGE credit to the front office and coaching staff......

So maybe they’re not “SO STUPID” for not acquiring more help today?

Maybe, just maybe, they know better than us fans do? And deserve some benefit of the doubt?

Crazy, I know.

Way too early for such a thread. If they go one and out in the play offs again, all that was worth less than a rat's fart.

If they win the SB or at least make it to the NFCCG, then and only then will I give credit to what the front office has or hasn't done this year. Everything else is just Jerry's agenda of doing just enough to "stay relevant".

We had good teams and good players in those last 26 years. They all wasted their career here.

So if Dallas is in the divisional round, up by 2 points with 1:00 left and Dak hands off to Pollard to continue to run out the clock, you’re all prepared to give the front office credit because they finally got to the NFCCG. They made good decisions and built a solid roster.

But then, Pollard has the ball stripped from him, the other team recovers and their kicker knocks one through as time expires to win by 1 point, sending Dallas home… then suddenly the front office doesn’t know what they’re doing and failed putting together a roster capable of going to the NFCCG?

problem is, cowboys would have to give up a 1st thru 5th rd draft pick and they value those pics more than life itself. No chance of giving them up

Yup. It's not about regular season wins or how everyone is performing after 8 games.

It's about what this team achieves as a whole. And if they make it, no matter how close, they have proven their worth. Since the NFL goes into tournament mode after two thirds of the season it may come down to those very clutch situations. Last year we were also at 6-2 at around this time of year. And we all know how that worked out. ;)

And this is no "glas is half empty" attitude all. Just an "let's not count the chickens before they hatch" approach.

It’s shocking how many Zoners act like they know more than the front office. They really believe they do.

That’s cool… I just wanted to know if one fumble by a RB could change your whole outlook on the entire roster.

Thanks for answering.

Well done. We filled a major hole w/ Hankins, and then didn't stupidly give up high draft picks for Cooks, the WR everyone trades for and then can't wait to dump.

A missed extra point could do that. Doesn't mean I can't enjoy a nice Sunday afternoon win(or in my timezone Sunday night lol). Makes you go to sleep with a smile and have a nice coffee brake with the Packers fan at work Monday morning. But after 26 years I don't give a flying f*** about regular season scores or stats anymore as long as they get into the play offs. Season begins in January.

This late in the season and coming off a knee injury I doubt it would be all that much money. 9 games left and counting.

He played for $1.25 million with the Rams last year.
I would take him at 1.25 million in a heartbeat. Even with 9 games remaining and him still rehabbing I would snatch him up for 1.25 million. He played good in the superbowl till he got hurt. He scares the defense in a way Washington or Brown won't. If you gave me a choice of Cooks and losing a 2nd rounder and a price tag of 18 million or a 1 year deal for OBJ for 1.25 and no loss of draft capital; I'm choosing OBJ.

In fact I would have been pretty disappointed with Jerry if he traded away Cooper due to his salary after spending a 1st to get him only to replace Cooper with Cooks who has a similar Salary and then lose another 2nd rounder. I just assume keep Cooper.

I may be in the minority here but I'm relieved no trades were made. We need draft capital to keep bringing in young studs on their rookie contracts to offset the bad contracts we have and the looming contracts for Diggs and Parsons.

Its bc fans see other teams go all out to get to the Super Bowl, every year is not successful, so when u have a good team and u have the opportunity to approve your team, you go "All Out" bc JJ says he will do anything to win a SB, hes not gettin any younger.
Go Cowboys!

Always get a daily dose of whining and complaining on this board and if I’m not satisfied well then it’s off to Bleeding Green Nation (yeah I know PUKE). Plenty of F### Dallas’s over there!

Well, here you go.
If Quinn leaves our season is over.
Neither Dak or Cooper can QB this team to a Super Bowl.
Other than that we're fine.
