Ripping the front office for no trades is hilarious

I wasn't wrong about Tyler Smith. I knew he could play left tackle. He's been so great! And I know he can play LG at an even higher level.

And I will admit that Jerry Jones does know a little bit about football. He has apparently learned enough to have us where we are now, and if you can't be appreciative of that, then nothing will make you happy.

I was in the vast minority in a poll that asked if I approved of Jerry Jones. And my answer was based on his moves and decisions over the past two years, coupled with his moves back to 2016.

Some ebbs and flows. But we're where we want to be right now.
It's MM. Like him or not, he's a legit HC in the NFL, and it shows.

Watching great teams get even better while you're team stands pat isn't ideal. This team doesn't have any good will to think they can continue doing things the same way and expecting a different result.

Who's decision was that?

Guy slept over at Jerry's house before he hired him.

That's dedication.

I like Mike, too. I like all of our coaches. Every single one of them.

No homer.

We were all DEAD WRONG about Cooper Rush. He’s been a fantastic backup.

We were all DEAD WRONG about Brett Maher. He’s been a fantastic kicker.

We were all DEAD WRONG about Noah Brown. He’s been rock solid filling in for Gallup/Washington.

We were all DEAD WRONG about Tyler Smith playing LT as a rookie. Remember how badly we wanted a vet replacement for Tyron Smith before Week 1? We got Jason Peters but he’s been nothing more than OG depth so far. Tyler has held his own.

We were all DEAD WRONG about Terence Steele at RT. This one maybe goes back a year.

The moral of the story: we’re 6-2 despite Dak missing 5 games and other adverse circumstances. That’s a HUGE credit to the front office and coaching staff......

So maybe they’re not “SO STUPID” for not acquiring more help today?

Maybe, just maybe, they know better than us fans do? And deserve some benefit of the doubt?

Crazy, I know.
THANK YOU

Funny post.

About 10 minutes before this you said you won’t pretend to more more than the front office.

Then you post this.

do you know more than the front office? If not , are you allowed to have an opinion?

or are you one of the resident experts that knows more than the front office and don’t want to allow others to express opinions as a fan?……which is it?

And then add in that it's not hard to be smarter than this FO!!!!!!!

Almost every team that was either superior or as good as the Cowboys upgraded their rosters to win THIS year.”

Sounds like you think the Cowboys are pretty good.

Why is that? And who gets credit for that?

the cowboys are very good this year, but can stand to make moves to improve. The credit goes to the FO, the coaches and the players

Why is it a negative to want them to improve from the 26th rank against the run?
Why is it negative to want them to improve their WR corp that is far below the talent level of the top teams?
Why is it negative to want a corner to replace ours that is out for the season?

what’s wrong about trying upgrade just as ALL the other good teams have?

If your happy with the current roster that’s fine by me……some of us want to see it tweaked like the other teams are doing.

We have NO idea what the asking prices were for any of the players you would’ve wanted.

Which difference-making DT and CB were even available for trade? What would those teams have wanted in return?

As for WR, there are other teams with MUCH greater needs at WR (like the Giants and Packers)... and they didn’t trade for one either. You know why? Because the asking price was too high for them, just like it was for us.

If we traded a 1st and 2nd for Brandin Cooks, this board would’ve melted down because we gave up too much.

they may know better than the fans do, but the last 25 years have proven that they don’t know better than the other general managers.

I don’t pretend to know better but let’s understand what just occurred. Almost every team that was either superior or as good as the Cowboys upgraded their rosters to win THIS year. The Cowboys are literally the only team that didn’t.

If we wer the Bills or Chiefs many of us could understand standing pat. Our defense is one of the worst against the run and our WR corp is man for man the weakest of the top 8 playoff bound teams and we lost a corner for the year

Hankerson is a nice addition but it’s not nearly enough to offset something like the Niners picking up McCafree. If the other teams didn’t improve their rosters I could see the Cowboys remain with their current roster, although they would still be inferior to the Bills, Chiefs and Eagles

Well said. It could not be more obvious that this was the time to finally take a risk. Every other contender understands that the NFC is pretty much anyone's for the taking and was more than happy to participate in the arms race.

It is more than reasonable to be frustrated while still appreciating some of the work the front office has done in the draft recently.

It is very hilarious. I have been following all sports for 50 years. Since when is the NFL trading deadline much of a thing? Yeah sure it has always existed and a few teams make a trade, but people are now suddenly treating football like it is baseball or basketball? In those sports there are many trades every year. Fans discuss it, fans get excited, hold out hope, the press covers it, etc. But it's barely a thing in football. Name 3 deadline day trades the Cowboys have made in their history? I bet no one can.
Yet suddenly all these fans feel entitled to get new players. Do it or I shall act enraged!!
Give me a break

this place is inundated with trolls and malcontent whingers. We just won a game by 3 scores and our offense demonstrated that they could perform at a high level against a good passing defense.

Read the threads on the front page the last couple of days. You would think we lost by 20.

Nevermind that we did trade for a empirically proven run stopping DT which is amongst the positions of need.

It's so refreshing seeing other fans who aren't so emotional and negative. Good post. Totally agree bro.

I'm sure someone already mentioned him but I'll throw in Dorance Armstrong. We were all DEAD WRONG about him too.

And we were all DEAD WRONG about putting a LBer like Parsons as a full time pass rusher.

DEAD WRONG about the TE position being weak.

Great post, brother! GO COWBOYS!!

if a 2nd was the compensation I would have rather given that up for Roquan Smith even as a 1 year rental and gotten a 3rd comp pick back instead
