Good move. Guy knows what it takes to make it in the league. Small school guy that played DT then moved over to having a long career as a long snapper.
Won a Super Bowl as a player.
Was volunteer coaching while working private sector for a firm that builds fire trucks hoping to get a coaching gig.

Will be interesting to see if he can get to T. Hill. DAL needs that kid to develop.

Interesting that they kept Lett plus hired Davis.

Because I don't understand his qualifications, this hire is puzzling to me. It's another of many instances where I will have to trust that McCarthy knows what he is doing. It's my understanding that Davis has never worked on a coaching staff at any level. I'm just really at a loss.

So is the whole staff gonna be making “we decisions” too? That could take awhile!

Here’s the link to the article if you’re interested: https://insidethestar.com/report-da...o-coaching-staff-as-assistant-head-coach/amp/

and here’s an interesting tidbit from the article:

“It remains to be seen exactly what his role on the coaching staff will be, but from past experience, it appears that he’ll be charged with mentoring players to grow both on and off the field. For the Cowboys, it can’t hurt to have someone with his experience to help players find the balance in their responsibilities as players with some of the business and personal opportunities those players may have off the field.”

Jaylon Smith and CEV? Demarcus Lawrence and Hotboyz lifestyle?

He must be fantastic at mentoring and teaching what to do and what not to do. Accountability coach.

One thing the packers have always done is find good wr's. With Cooper's signing problematic, seems a good hire. Hope he good at finding te's too.

Upon retiring from the NFL, Davis joined the Packers' staff as Director of Player Development. Davis works for Pierce Manufacturing- an industry leader in fire apparatus. Rob helps lead the company's People First culture efforts as senior director of people and culture. Davis left Pierce Manufacturing in January of 2020 to join former Packers head coach Mike McCarthy with the Dallas Cowboys organization.
