Rob Ryan Fired per twitter ESPNDallas **merged**

Like i said in another thread I'm happy this clown is gone. Him and his brother don't shut up. in his 8 years as a defensive coordinator his teams records are 41-87. I don't care what teams he's coached. that's horrible

Loved this tweet by Rick Gosselin.

@rickgosselinDMN: No commitment to run game so you fire RB coach. No healthy bodies on D so you fire the coordinator. The real problems need to be addressed.

Ryan did nothing special in Oakland.

Ryan did nothing special in Cleveland.

Ryan did nothing special in Dallas last year.

Ryan did nothing special the first half-dozen games this year when the defense was relatively healthy and the entire offseason was focused on the defensive side of the ball. No pressure. No turnovers.

The rueing going on in this thread is great stuff.

Looks like Jerry is taking a page from Mack Brown and Texas. Scapegoat everyone, change assistants, change the strength and conditioning coach but....

This is exactly what they're doing.

They are going to try and make this Head Coaching job in Dallas a weekend at Bernie's job.

I like how people are acting like the Cowboys just canned Bud Carson or Dick Lebeau. Ryan is an ok DC, nothing more nothing less. As far as getting 10 calls for jobs tonight? I don't remember him being on great demand when he got this job. His last 2 jobs were Cleveland and Oakland prior to this gig. Not like Rob was coordinating the Steel Curtain, folks.

But what has Garrett done? Jerry needs to address the real problems in Dallas.

He won't fire himself

I agree with this. Right now it is more about Garrett hatred than anything.

If this ends up being the beginning of a house cleaning that ends with Garrett heading out the door then I can handle that.

Agree 100% with you. But if Garrett remains in place, then this was a BS move. "Lets throw someone to the sharks so they dont get me".

what was the defense ranked the first 5 games?

Jerry is officially a moron. I'm sure Garrett didn't stand in his way either.

Red has pictures of JJ in compromising positions. It's really the only explanation.

I'm surprised but hardly upset.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think Ryan has been the DC of a top-10 defense-- ever.

His defenses in Dallas looked confused-- constantly.

And the lack of turnovers was abysmal.

Finally, even with the injuries, to not play more aggessive was head-scratching.

Even Zimmer, with his lack of talent on defense during the Parcells' era played more man-to-man.

It got to the point that I would wince whenever Ryan opened his mouth.

My friend it is not about Rob if you want to fire someone fire the person who did not preform as he supposed to .. but I guess JG can't be fired

@nickeatman: Starting to hear whispers this wont be biggest coaching news of the week ... No, not Garrett! But a different OC perhaps ! We'll see

True.

This is more about Jerrah and Garrett than it is Ryan.

I find it hilarious that a great many posters with their panties in a bunch over this had previously called for Ryan's head.

Wouldn't surprise me in the least.
