Rob Ryan Fired per twitter ESPNDallas **merged**

my passions are running quite high at the moment.

at one point this season we led the league in 3 and outs.... so DONT tell me Ryan was this super mediocre coach. and either way we'll find out next year.... just like with Wade.

what really chaps my hindquarters, are the pompous posters going "well Ryan was nothing special, who hadnt done anything worthwhile in previous stops, and wasnt great here"

what in the Hades does that make Jason "Cant adjust to Blitz" Garrett... because i know that Rob Ryan has done better this year given what hes had to work with than Jason Garrett and that INCLUDES the injuries on defense. i dont think its a stretch to say that we currently have the worst OC/HC in the league... not decent. not average. not mediocre. BAD. take away the points we scored in the hurry up (Thank GOD for ROMO) and we would have NOTHING on offense depending on Garretts TRASH play calling.

im a little upset that Ryans gone, but im PISSED that Garrett is still here!!

As I know those who have worked with Gruden, I heard he smiles when talking about Dallas and all the "toys he'd have to play with."

If only.

@hatcher97: It was a privilege to play under Coach Rob Ryan! One of the greatest. Sad day. I'm hurting right now.

You'll be fine when you get your next paycheck, Jason. Suck it up.

Shango says there's a rumor that Ryan called Claiborn the N word. Has anybody else heard this? He also said that's no reason the fire him. Even if it's true, I'm sure he was fired for some other reason.

So the offense blows with mostly a healthy set of players and JG gets a pass. Rob does a pretty good job with 1/2 the defensive starters out and gets canned. I dont get it.

Firing by cell is pitiful but could have been worse, could have texted him or done a facebook status update "Jerry is no longer in a relationship with Rob"

They didn't fire him over a phone call, did they?

Please tell me they weren't that scared of his reaction.

I would hate to believe that, but he is a Ryan afterall

They fired him by text?!? Is this confirmed?

If so, that is beyond pitiful.

If he called a Cowboy player the N word, do you really think guys like Ware, Hatcher, Ratliff, etc would stand for it? I mean it's Texas but come on.

The guy has been in the league for years. If he did call Claiborn that, it's likely he has called others that and I haven't heard of it.

Broaddus said today that it was a personal issue with Garrett that got Peete fired.

This.

The defense was great even playing with so many injuries for most of the season. This reeks of rash decision making by Jerry to let everyone know who is "still the boss around here". Ugh, the defense was actually pleasant to watch for a frickin change.

Indeed....

Tim MacMahon ‏@espn_macmahon

Rob Ryan got the bad news from Jason Garrett while on vacation in Turks and Caicos. Uncomfortable? "I'm comfortably numb," he said.

Time to consider updating your sig.

If Rob was away they did the right thing by firing him via phone. Better for him to do that then wait a week till he's back and most of the job vacancies have filled up.

This really has me pissed, and i never knew I was a Ryan fan. He helped this team a lot more than he got credit for. You see what you can do with a bunch of 3rd and 4th string defensemen.

Peete probably wasn't happy with having the least amount of rushing attempts in team history.
