Rob Ryan Fired per twitter ESPNDallas **merged**

Rob Ryan's signature moments: F-Bombs, too many/too few guys on the field, last in the NFL in takeaways, 3 man rushes against rookie QBs...

Take the emotion out of it. He wasn't that great.

Why do guys like Wade and Rob get hyped about their defensive creativity then When they get here they are just as bland as ever?

Just to put it out there, I think Garrett deserves to be fired as well.

I've never been much of a Garrett fan. I think he's in over his head as head coach.

There is very little doubt about that from most fans!!!!! Rob needed to go but Jason should have been first. In fact the ENTIRE staff should be replaced.

I have no idea. Wade was even less creative.

Here's the other thing about Ryan. He was here two years. His first season he had no off season workouts, mini camps or much of a training camp and they had to learn it throughout the year. This year he had the early part of the season but the injuries started to come and they came in waves with half the defense on IR.

So to say that he was not very good is not really fair given the circumstances.

Compare that with Garrett who has had all of six years and has autonomy over the offense for all six and you have to ask, what was his excuse?

Amen.

Hello Lovie Smith

Doesn't Lovie coach a 4-3?

Also, the decision to fire Rob Ryan is utter BS. I thought he did pretty well with the amount of injuries we had on defense. I'm very angry that he was fired.

I thought Ryan was OK but not great. I would've given him another year. You can't change coordinators every 2 years...now the players have to learn a new scheme and they have to start over again.

Jerry has been preaching continuity but then making this move is very strange. If it takes you only 2 years to decide that they didn't like Ryan then you blame Jerry for not doing his homework and making the hire in the first place!

One name that you could speculate on early for Cowboys DC -- Eric Mangini, based on Garrett's interest in him two years ago.

Albert Breer ‏@AlbertBreer
Now the reason against Mangini: If Garrett's plan is change philosophically, hiring Rob's closest coaching associate doesn't wash.

If Garrett was the one to call him, that leads me to believe it was his decision.

Stay tuned.

Tom Ciskowski calls our draft picks.

He doesn't select the players.

Do not like the thought of this. Defense will be a mess for half the season and we'll be where we are now.

I love how some of the hardcore Garrett homers have claimed that he hasn't had enough time to implement his process... Yet are perfectly happy with ejecting Rob after two years.

Don't go bringing common sense into this conversation.

Defensive Passer Rating was 92.30 through the first 6 games

That's because of all the injuries.

Oh, that's right, that was before the injuries.

Gosh, maybe Ryan wasn't and isn't a good DC.

He's talking about who called Rob and fired him

And how was our offense during that time?

That's because of our front seven. Even when healthy, they aren't good enough.

BTW, where was all this Ryan hate prior to the firing?

Excellent question.

Wow rob fired? Thank you jerry jones for once again proving to me that you are the biggest idiot in football! I though Rob did a hell of a job considering half the D was lost to injury. Also the D did not cause felix to fumble the opening kickoff or to throw 5 picks to lose both the seattle and chicago games. Dont know how jerry can put this on the D and on rob ryan! Jerry please please please go away!
