Rob Ryan schooled again

I love The Rat but I think the team needs someone that can push the pocket. Qbs find it too easy to step up and get the pass off.

He's getting double-teamed almost every play, because offenses don't have to respect the other DL to get any kind of consistent pass rush. If we had someone else on the line who could get pressure on the QB with any consistency, Rat would have an easier time of it.

We aren't 10-0, Its perfectly fine to talk about the teams problems.

St put us in some tough spots today, but our d did not play well at all, can't give up nearly 400 yards to rex grossman. Good defenses never let that game to ot.

Cowboys didn’t. Held him under 300 yards.

It's almost like some fans don't realize that the other team's coaches and players get paid a ton of money to perform, too.

I don't care about the yards.

We caved when it mattered most - at the end of the 4th quarter and again in OT. They moved the ball 45 yards pretty easily to get into FG range and then got too conservative.

The part that bothers me isn't so much they moved the ball but the way they moved the ball. There is a systemic issue that is being exploited that we have to fix.

The most important thing may be to mix things up more in our coverages and to get Carter on the field more (even on first down).

It was a big time exposure. The Commanders were putting on a clinic. Grossman drops back, throws, 1st. Repeat. Repeat. It's not even like he was standing in the pocket all day for most of his completions. He took his 5 step drop, made 1 read and completed it. They found the weakness in the Cowboys coverage and they attacked it. We weren't even making the Commanders earn it, they were just getting whatever they wanted in the air, whenever they want it.

I understand that this defense emphasizes not giving up the deep ball (they are in the top of the league in fewest 40+ yard plays given up in the air) but come on...eventually you have to adjust. The Commanders took what the Cowboys gave them and just drove down the field with 10 yard gains

Frankly, the way our defense started the game, Washington had no business only being down by 10. 5 drives without a first down, I think it was?

Our offense squandered opportunities to end this game early.

Yup.

Commander possessions:
1st: Turnover
2nd: Punt
3rd: Punt
4th: Punt
5th: Punt
6th: Touchdown
7th: Touchdown
8th: Field Goal
9th: Missed Field Goal
10th: Punt
11th: Turnover
12th: Touchdown
13th: Missed Field Goal

It was the same areas that Philly attacked us when the Skins moved the ball against us. I think it is a systematic weakness that was being exploited. Maybe the answer is to mix in more man coverage which we can't do until Jenkins is back.

I think that has more to do with Brooking and James then it does about Ryan. They had issues running early but Helu forced the LB to respect the play action in the second half. They had no depth on their drops. There also was lots of man out there. Thats how Grossman got home free on their first TD.

Trent Williams played a great game which didn't help either.

I look at this the same way I look at the criticism of Garrett's play calling. 90% of the time its poor execution by players. Shanahan and Ryan know each other very well and Shanahan is a very good coach. I'm sure Choice helped a lot too

I don't think they had any LBs out there on that first TD.

Does anyone think that this did NOT happen? Of course it did.....

But hey, to all the Debbie Downers....

WE WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

People don't like to debate, they like to argue. You are very correct about our D and Ryan getting owned today.

You call that owned? If we got owned then the Commanders got absolutely demolished because we outgained and outscored them.

Could've done without his "o" face.

Outside of Ware and the occasional Hatcher sighting, this defense has no pass rush. We need another pass rusher badly.

Newman was awful.
Apparently you didn't get the memo from the News Zone "Dallas Cowboys CB playing with a chip on his Shoulder". No one and I mean No one is allowed to say anything bad about our 8million dollar CB. Even though he was all but gone this off season if Nnamdi was signed. He is a bargain and how dare you besmirch his great play these past few games vs all his years of great service to this team. He is the epitome of health this year and playing lights out, (according to some) and worth every dollar they are paying him an!!!d eerrrrr aarrrgggghhhhh!!!!!!!

Sorry my sarcasm meter just broke.

I don't hate Newman but on a different post a few of us disagreed with a few who love him and they threw their panties at us. Apologies.

And sadly, two of the front seven guys (not counting Ware who has actually lived up to his draft status) were 1st round picks.

We are a much better team, they have a terrible offense and Grossman is one of the worst QB's in the NFL. Yes, I call that owned. Not as a team, our defense got owned by a bad offense.

The only reason we won is because they have a bad kicker.
