pittdawg has handled his stint here with class and dignity. it's a shame some of us have to take a parting shot at the guy - subtle or not.

rob will be flying to new orleans tonight to join his new team the saints. rob was told by his agent that payten couldn't believe his good fortune when the cowboys released rob and took him after the texans passed. i know alot of dallas fans didn't like rob, but i think the saints do and will give rob every opportunity to succeed. unlike the opinions of some, i think rob played very well in preseason and has a tremendous upside.

i truely hope that the o-line gets the job done for you and dallas has a very successful season. i can't help but feel that rob's career will continue to flourish with the saints and all will end well.

see you in dec, no way i'm missing that game.

Nothing personal but he did struggle last year as did the entire offensive line when Flo' went down. I wish him well in N.O.

One thing the Texans need is OL help, goodness, I wonder if Elton John has taken over management of that team.

Good luck to Rob, being claimed so early on waivers a tribute to him.

i've been told from a reliable source that parcells was the only coach or member of the organization that pushed for rob's release. that said, it's over now and rob is of to the saints.

i hope the o-line does well and the cowboys get to the playoffs.

I would be interested to hear from you in a couple of months. Wonder if you could get Rob's take on the NO O-line coach vs our mafia coach. So far, ours hasn't impressed me yet.

Thank God it wasn't the skins. Whew. I'd of had to root for him incognito. Best news I've had all week. Congrats to him and your family. Thanks for updating us Pittdawg, I'll be rooting for him.

You know that is sorta goofy if you stop to think about it.

I think you need to refocus a little.

Wish Rob good luck for us! Although some fans were a little hard on him, most of us were pulling for him. Any Cowboys fan would (theoretically) hope that one of their draft picks would be a success story. Hopefully he will be a success story. Unfortunately, it just won't be here.

Rob got caught up in a numbers game here....

He didn't win right the tackle job, and he was beaten out by McQuiston, who has better upside (in parcells' opinion, at least)

Some say cut Fabini, but I feel a lot better with Fabini and McQuiston at backup than I do McQuiston and Petitti.....

Rob got bigger this year but still was making some of the mistakes he made last year that almost got Bledsoe killed.

Rob might develop, but we didn't have room for 2 developmental tackles on this team, and Rob wasn't as promising as McQuiston.

Good luck Rob and Pittdawg.
The Saints are a better place for Rob right now. He can learn as they rebuild. They have time for it, the cowboys don't this year.

And I will say that, if the DMN blog is correct, I think it's kind of disappointing that Rob didn't get the news directly from Parcells. (Mosely said Rob was told by Jeff Ireland.) I know that some coaches tell the players themselves; I thought/hoped Parcells did.

I still can't believe we released him and am not surprised in the least at how quickly he was picked up.

Feh.

Pettiti will cause more damage to their offense than Katrina ever could.

This is just wrong.

Sorry your son was cut. Them's the breaks.

But secretly rooting for the skins because of a 7th round draft choice?

Where are your priorities in life, man?

Are you saying that Rob was a 7th round draft choice?

You may want to re-check your cowboy draft history.
