Hey, I don't distribute the fact that he could very well end up at guard. That's where several of the draft guides projected him and certainly he has the body type for it.

The guy is like what 6'4"? To me that's a little short for tackle.

But certainly no harm in letting him try the same position he played in college... If he can't make it at RT, then try him at guard.

Larry Allen never had the traditional "tackle-shape" either.

Well done sir.

Its been one game and from a lot of what I have been reading its been technique issues. People keep saying he is doing then because hes this or that but really we do not know especially after a half of football.

You have to love people calling for a position change after 30 or so snaps.

You can look any number of ways and still suck.

Bed wetters are over reacting just like they did with Free after the Minny game.

Dude hasn't played in a game since end of 2008 and he more than held his own.

I wouldn't be shocked at all to see him starting for us in a couple years.

And I think if the posts are searched there were many who thought Free regressed in his second training camp– that the year of strength training didn't take hold (as of the second year).

Some of these guys just take time.

Rewatched the second half. Brewster was OK. I still dont see this guy as LT long term, maybe the right side.

That's true Mike.

L.A. had the prototypical bowling ball body.

Watch the Bengals game and tell me who was starting for them at RT.

He was picked 6th overall.

More like LA was built like a freight train and Brewster is built like the marshmellow guy from Ghostbusters.

You play a guy at LT and RT for a stretch like that for a reason. the way I see it they are looking to figure out what he can do and what he can't do. What he knows and what he doesn't. i doubt that anyone know much about what he projects to at this point. But that the team even put him out there at LT suggests the staff thinks that position is still possible for him

Who mentioned LT?

you have to remember that moving Brewster to guard would be an admission by Dallas that they missed on him because he was taken high (for cowboy standards) for an offensive lineman. And I suspect Jerry Jones is in no mood to admit they missed again on offensive lineman...so we go thru the Bobby Carpenter cycle of just keep playing him there and pray to god one day he decides to live up to draft day expecations while most of the fan base sees the obvious. Whats baffling is that Young replace Brewster at RT and didnt give up single sack and Barker replaced Brewster at LT and didnt give up sack...but Wade choose to praise Brewster..who obviously got beat badly on several plays.

he moved over to LT because Alex Barron got injured. That being said i thought he played better at LT than RT. On left side it was more of him just missing assignment or misreading the play. On right side...he just got outright beat by Frostee Rucker.

After what we've been through in the draft on the OL........

I dare this team to hit on Brewster and Young as future starters.

That would save a lot of coin and a couple picks.

Just so long as they all end up like this eventually.

Vernon Carey started poorly but has been solid at RT for Miami.

This team is not interested in 6-7 305 guys at tackle. Get used to it.

Big Nate started pretty slowly and eventually developed into a pretty dang good OL for us. Same with Tuinei. Heck, he started so bad that he wasn't even an OL for us at first.

:laugh2:

Give the kid some time and lets see what happens.

If the guy didn't pan out at either T or G, then yeah, I think it would be a major disappointment. But if he ended up being a starter at say guard, would that be a disappointment? Gosh, I don't think so.

And look at what the team has done, uncovering an acceptable LT as a 4th rounder.

But the bottom line is that I think we're way too early in this "game" to label Brewster a failure at T period.

Let's give it a little more time and not be so quick to label guys.
