How do we keep 4 RB's and a FB? Plus 4 TE's? Alfred Morris might get cut.

Maybe if Zeke wasn't suspended....but no way is he getting cut. IMO, they should carry 3 tight ends, 2 quarterbacks and 4 running backs. Rod Smith can play some full back and running back. They could cut Swaim and i'd be ok with that. Kellen Moore as well.

Yeah I'm using the word beast loosely but that guy can run.

He's big, fast, has vision, and just runs with tenacity.

That's the kind of guy I want to bring into a game against a tired defense. Someone that is that big and runs like his job depends on it.

He's a football player.

Also, that Nwachaku is a football player too. He's different from the type of WRs we have here.
Loved the reference in chat and I'm glad to see this thread bro. He is indeed a player. We are chock full of talent.

I would like to see Smith play a couple of series with the starters. Then he can be better evaluated.

Buckeye fan from OH, he was the next RB to take the rains but someone named Zeke changed that.

Im really hoping he makes the team. Gotta keep that guy. Love him.

That is a great point, Rod Smith could fill that same role of coming in during the second half and bludgeoning the opposing defense into the ground.

But MBIII was 215 - 220 pounds, Rod Smith is 240.

No point in bludgeoning anyone when you have #21. Top 5 player in this league already.

Edit.....well at least until week 7! ;)

Yeah I see a lot of people talking about cut McFadden in favor of him. I like Smith's game. But let's put things in perspective here.....he was playing against backups. Backups inferior to even him who's a 3rd or 4th string guy here.

He works hard and he runs just as hard. I'm rooting for him. I think being able to play fullback as well probably assures he has a position on this team since he can play special teams as well. But he did what he was suppose to do against inferior competition. Run all over them.
Yes but so was Morris and Hillman and neither one really did much of anything.

But with his feet and vision I could totally seem him in that Richie Anderson type role. But his ability to play ST, catch, block and run with authority is great for the RB3 spot IMO.

Zeke, Smith as FB/RB, and McFadden settles the RBs. You can do without a FB period but Smith is a FB and a RB.

That way you don't muck with the roster elsewhere. Injuries will take care of cuts when Zeke returns.

I had been awaiting his performance tonight, hoping he'd impress favorably again and wasn't disappointed. He's a physical specimen who is surprising fast and very agile for his size. He's young yet, still developing and should do nothing but improve with added experience. I'm hoping he'll be used liberally in the upcoming preseason games to gain favor with the staff and fans. I'd like nothing better than to see him become a highly valued contributor with our RB corps.

He's what you want in a third RB. Plus his mojo with his brother and Zeke is pretty cool. He makes the cut, and probably gets kept over Morris when Elliott returns.
Don't think Morris going anywhere....if 'Boys are smart.

I agree. smith is a great preseason player. I just do not see him doing great against starting nfl lineman and backers. he does not have a good first step to beat quality lineman. I think he makes the team if Elliott is not on the active roster but when he returns smith will be released.

This kid is here to stay he is not going anywhere anytime soon.

Smith has a Swiss Army knife appeal to him. You need guys like that. He also seems to have a boatload of desire. He checks off multiple categories. 1. Special Teams, 2. Running back with soft hands, some wiggle and some power. 3. Part Time full back if needed. With a 53 man roster guys like that make the team.
