Smith is a lock. Not based on last night but everyday , and everything he brings. Always practices , plays each special teams, and can play FB too. I think they will try to get him touches as the season goes. Very reliable. Valuable member to the club. Both Smiths will make it.

If I had a pet cat, Smith would be the one. There's something to him.

i don't know where this team goes long?

TE: Witten, Hanna, Swaim and Gathers?
QB: Dak, Moore and Rush?
RB: Zeke, DMac, Morris and Smith?

He's the type of runner that could break a defense's will in the 4th Quarter. It's one thing to be worn down by our offensive line, having to tackle a 240lb back on top of that is another nightmare entirely.

Yeah I'm using the word beast loosely but that guy can run.

He's big, fast, has vision, and just runs with tenacity.

That's the kind of guy I want to bring into a game against a tired defense. Someone that is that big and runs like his job depends on it.

He's a football player.

Also, that Nwachaku is a football player too. He's different from the type of WRs we have here.

So you are saying Rod Smith is better than Darius Jackson?

I been saying Rod Smith is a keeper since they plucked the Seahawks. I mean, plucked him from the Seahawks.

I heard from a friend of mind that he was supposed to be the next starter at Ohio State until Zeke won the job. Not sure how true that is though.

Rod had some academic issues at OSU, then something else happened, violated a team policy, and he was off the team. He kept his scholarship to finish school, but no football.

i like him but im worried he'll be another phillip tanner. member thinking he was going to be real good based off of preseason

Rod has made a few plays in his limited time in the regular season also. No way is he a Phillip Tanner. Though Tanner had his plays too.

Smith has a Swiss Army knife appeal to him. You need guys like that. He also seems to have a boatload of desire. He checks off multiple categories. 1. Special Teams, 2. Running back with soft hands, some wiggle and some power. 3. Part Time full back if needed. With a 53 man roster guys like that make the team.

He has also lined up in the slot as well as a WR in the past. Not just St's teams, but also can return kicks on ST's.

Lets run the Wing T and keep Rod Smith, Alfred Morris, Darren McFadden to all run with Zeke;).......I'm joking, but it seems there is a lot of depth at RB......Hillman is here too.

Yes some tough roster decisions this year, particularly at RB, WR, and TE. Rod Smith is probably on this team, but thinness on the defensive side of the ball makes for even more difficult decisions with the suspension and whenever Zeke returns.

Its going to be impossible to keep 4 rbs, 1 fb, 4 tes, and 6 wrs... Have to hope players like Noah Brown, Nwachaku can atleast make it to the praftice squad.

Looked pretty good, but it is preseason.....hope he has ST skills too. Doesn't replace Alfred Morris via a cut, in my book, but a Morris trade would be more profitable.....if the team has to go that way. Paid for by Alfred Morris Fan club.
