How about keeping the outcome as it is an the account of a phantom BS tripping call that shouldn't even have been called on us to begin with.
Good point!Where would they restart the game? From the point of the tripping call against Hendershot that wasn’t a trip?
No not until after the ball was in the air he most certainly did not!68 had two defenders on him.
Lawrence ran towards him after he saw Goff starting to throw and the other defender came off a WR to try to defend. Had 68 been named the eligible receiver no way he goes uncovered and gets open. Never mind the fact when 68 goes out for a pass it became an illiegal formation. Which is a penalty last time I checked….No not until after the ball was in the air he most certainly did not!
Two guys running towards him after the ball is in the air is not the same as two defenders on him.68 had two defenders on him.
What was really bad was the bogus tripping call and the holding non call at Miami and the picking up the flag in Arizona and so on.I mean, it was a sh¡tty way to win the game I can't lie, so it is understandable from the rest of the leagues perspective. Oh well.
If there was ever a time for that,it should have happened in the 2014 game in greenbay..DEZ CAUGHT ITIt's in the article, he can reschedule and restart the game or continue the game from the point of the questionable outcome.
If a commissioner-led investigation into official Brad Allen’s call reveals it was “extraordinarily unfair or outside the accepted tactics” and has “a major effect on the result of the game,” Roger Goodell can take action that includes “the reversal of a game’s result or the rescheduling of a game, either from the beginning or from the point at which the extraordinary act occurred.”
No happening. The comish has had the authority to overturn games for decades, but it's never happened. It would harm the sport far more than any blown call could. Plus, in this case, let's assume the refs completely screwed up the illegal touch call. Let's assume the guy reported himself eligible totally according to the rules. In that case, the Cowboys simply accept the illegal formation penalty. That penalty was certainly correct, and the refs called that one as well. So, either way, there's a 5-yard penalty against the Lions. Plus, the Cowboys would have run out the time anyway if the refs had gotten the tripping penalty correct. Can you imagine if this actually happens. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nf...p&cvid=761b99dd6a944404a8e28ad40e0c9ffb&ei=19
If the bolded were 100% true, then no tackle eligible play in history would ever work. And we know that is not true. With the Cowboys' poor attention to detail, I wouldn't rule anything out, but we'll never know.It has never been done, and this doesn’t even deserve to be corrected. First, there’s no proof it was a mistake. Second, if the refs announced 68 as active, the Cowboys would have covered him. Look at the way they were lined up. 68 and the 1 guy off the ball were the only eligible guys on the left side. No way that guy is open if we know he’s eligible which is what the rule is all about.
he can't because it wasn't the end of the game, he can't claim that we would not have kicked a game winning FG. He would also undermine his refs who have a different version of events, and he has no basis to choose one over the other. Can you imagine if this actually happens. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nf...p&cvid=761b99dd6a944404a8e28ad40e0c9ffb&ei=19
It ain’t happening no matter how much you want it to.Can you imagine if this actually happens. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nf...p&cvid=761b99dd6a944404a8e28ad40e0c9ffb&ei=19
this...I'm really over the cryin lionsNo its not. For the millionth time, they committed multiple penalties on that play AND it wouldn't have even happened if not for an egregious tripping call against us.
Let them all cry, as long as they do it in AT&T.
