There is a rumor going around based off an alleged leaked script page that Snoke created Anakin. Be it that he physically fathered him or that he created him by manipulating the midichlorians (which Plagueis did) wasnt clear.

Granted 99.9% that was complete BS lol

There was no physical father.

Anakin was created by the Star Wars version of "the immaculate conception". (Snoke & midiclorians... use palpatine voice here = "he could even create life"

Oh FYI

I read a while back that there is never a palpatine/sidious.

Meaning:

1.) Plagueis figured out how to cheat death.

2.) Palp/Sidious killed him BUT... Plagueis transferred into Palp/Sid body (that's how he cheats Death, he assumes another body)... so Palp/did really died and never existed in movies,

3.) It's been Plagueis all along.

I Like this. A lot!

Maybe Snoke is Tom Bombadil!

That's why he was cut from the LOTR trilogy

I really liked rogue one.

Disney will take great care of Star Wars, im officially convinced. Modern day directing and story telling work so well with Star Wars.

Great story and characters with the appropriate homage to the series. I smiled when I heard the classic "I have a bad feeling about this." :)

The thing I really appreciated is that this movie made the rebellion feel like a war, with lives at stake.I always felt that was an important element missing with the original trilogy. Darth Vader was actually a menacing figure and it was awesome.

Totally agree. Can't believe it's only getting an 84% rating on rotten tomatoes. And Force Awakens got something like 92%. This was in my opinion way better. When people were hurt or died in Force, I didn't care. This movie, it tugs at your heart, and the end of the movie is beyond sad. The big battle scene at the end blows away Force Awakens battle scenes. Not even close. I liked Force, but this movie blew me away and I thought Felicity Jones was amazing. She put so much emotion and depth into her character.

Why do they have to compared?

Rogue One was a story we knew. It was done very well. But truth be told ... it was a prequel.
It was a story that didn't have to be told.

Even the three prequels. We knew Vaders story just from a few words from Ben in original trilogy.
Anakins story was a story that didn't have to be told.

But... it's Disney. Lucas always wanted to do more.... so.... more "Star Wars stories" coming.

My favorite battle scene, if you insist on comparing, was Rey and Finn in Millenium Falcon. That was fun. Memorable.

Just stating the ratings on rotten tomatoes and why Force is so loved, and Rogue gets mixed reviews. As for Rogue being the story we knew, only thing we knew was from the one line in Star Wars opening crawl. Everything else we didn't know.

My wife asked me if rogue one is considered a prequel although it's listed as a "Star Wars story." It's clear that rogue one takes place after revenge of the sith and before a new hope. the movie even ends with princes leia right before she uploads the Death Star plans on r2d2 and darth Vader boards that ship.

Although we knew the ending before hand I think it's important on how the rebellion even figured out the death star's weakness. That was something that was never talked about. When a new hope started all we know is that princess leia uploaded a message to obi wan asking for his help.

I think this story added a lot of clarity and depth to the original trilogy. It gave a lot of meaning to how the trilogy played out imo.

It makes sense that a imperial defector got that info for the rebels.

I haven't checked but I think they retrofitted the plans weakness for this movie.

It was our there on purpose(RO) vs they found a weakness(ANH)

Jyn's father gave the Death Star a weakness to be destroyed. He was "rebelling" himself in the movie. He agreed to continue work on the Death Star (even though they said they could do it without him) so he can sabotage it. He had checked out of being part of the empire. He was living as a farmer in hiding with his family at the beginning. The thing I am unsure about is forest Whittaker's character.

SPOILERS... Duh.

Correct.

But much much much closer to 4.

I would not be surprised if the final scene leads into the first scene of a new hope.

For all you nerds out there, it would be like the final scene from Halo Reach leading into the original.

Said this in another thread and was not wrong. Yay me!

Thought this was a really good movie, but was disappointed with the score.

The Vader scene at the end really kind of capped it off as a succes for me. Just an awesome scene.

I think some of Whittaker's character was left on the cutting room floor.

Whittakker is actually the star of the first trailer, and he voices over a warning to someone (maybe Jyn, maybe her father) about what they might do or become if they are caught fighting.

My guess is that there were probably scenes of Gerrera before he became lost in his paranoia. It's a shame too, I think he could have been a very interesting character, but I guess it didn't help move the story forward.

Yes. Now. Lol

But in ANH you can assume they just found a weakness.

It's convenient.

I get your point.

The real question is: would you rather the rebels "find" the weakness inexplicably or that a rogue (no pun intended) empire engineer sabotaged it and secretly had the plans released to the rebels.

I find the latter to be better not only plot wise but it's more plausible. It's not that crazy to think some top ranking empire officials would not be on board with the emperor.

I agree.

But my answer in 1977 would be = find weakness

My answer in 2016 = the latter :) lol

Alot of people bagging on Kylo because he isnt " menacing" or " he's emo". I dont think he is supposed to be the new Darth Vader, which it seems many assumed. He is a massive wildcard and unstablizes the story making it more difficult to guess what is going to happen

So if kyber crystals really do call to the Jedi/Sith and that their color depicts the personality of the creator, it says something that Kylo was called by a cracked kyber crystal. :D
