According to Mike Fisher McClain is wanting way to much money , and there may be a rift right now. Deal isn't close.

Sorry this guy is just too much of a headcase for me. I say don't re-sign him. I didn't like the way he ended the season at all and he seems soft . Wasn't giving 100%.

I'm sure that's why they have interest in McKinnley from Miss State. I too am not a huge RoMac supporter. Too many issues.

This guy has a lot against him now a possible suspension, concussions, and is not that stable in general.

While I'm disappointed he may not be back, he simply is too much of a risk to sign to a lot of money. Between injuries, possible suspension, and the inability to put together a full season of work, committing too much money is just way too dangerous.

Hopefully, he'll come back ... because I'd really like to see this LB corps with him and Lee next to each other ... at least for a few games. I don't think he's the linchpin he was last year while Lee was out, but I do think he's an impact player.

They've already given more money to Brinkley and Gachkar than you would expect for backups. Lee and Hitchens were likely the Nickel LBs even with RoMc on the roster. They now have many LBs with starting experience.
Lee
Hitchen
Brinkley
Gachkar
Rivers
Watson

I think the Brinkley and Gachkar contracts indicate they have moved on from RoMc.

Are any other teams talking to him?
can just wait him out if need be. Draft a LB if there in the 1st or 2nd.

Hopefully he re-signs. Would help our run D big time.

Hitchens-McClain-Lee

Brinkley, Gachkar, Wilber, Rivers as backups.

NOBODY other than us will sign him so if he wants to get paid next year he will sign a reasonable contract with us on out terms.

i could see the 49ers signing him with their current situation at lb. but i can't see him getting a big contract anywhere.

i can also see him retiring if he doesn't get what he what he wants. i love the way he plays and what he brings to the defense but there is too much weird stuff around Ro.

In the playoffs he was soft. Dude didn't want to play.

i don't agree with the sentiment that he didn't want to play. i don't think he should have been on the field at all.

you could tell he still wasn't right after the previous concussion

He was a feel good story last season, but I am not on board with bringing him back. Injuries, Retirements, suspensions, one strike away from a four game suspension for substance abuse. Unless he is coming back to an incentive laden contract then I would stay away and draft some new blood for the MLB spot.

Agree, I said this a few times. by signing those 2 with the contracts given, and with Rivers. They were preparing to move on if need be. Plus they had a few on PS to see if they improved to compete.
