I will not deny that I have wondered if the locker room is big enough for Hardy and RoMac. He may be smoking something if he thinks there is a big demand for his services, with all the baggage he carries:
concussions; arson investigation; drug use; strange behavior; and more.

According to Mike Fisher McClain is wanting way to much money , and there may be a rift right now. Deal isn't close.

Sorry this guy is just too ghetto for me I say don't re-sign him. I didn't like the way he ended the season at all and he seems soft . Wasn't giving 100%.

I'm good off these dudes who seem to have mental problems.

He can take his soft *** else where.

Last thing we need is another TO episode, of him trying to commit that during the season.

say it ain't so Ro!

Let this be a reminder to folks that throw out "loyalty" and "home town discounts" when players are being talked about for signing. The NFL is a business on both sides...money is the deciding factor. I think I read that Mo has made close to 30M so far in his career. He retired twice, the Cowboys traded to get him, put him in an environment to succeed when no other team was probably going to. Now he wants big money again. If you can't set your family up for the rest of their lives on 30M...another 10 or 15 won't do it either.

When RoMc is playing right he is a real force along with being a great asset to this defense. No one else on the team brings the hammer like he did in 2014. I understand the other issues but if we look at Hardy then really RoMc liabilities are trivial.

I wouldn't pay him much more than a few million a year. He has no heart whatsoever. He likely won't be in the league in two to three years.

He came in and played well for long enough to think he'd earned a big pay day. Then when the going got tough he checked out again. Not to mention he'll likely get arrested for arson.

I disagree, he has heart and you would see that if you saw how emotional he was on the sidelines. He is unstable and possibly bipolar but when you get him on the field...he has heart.

Heck yes he has heart. Dude plays every play like it's his last one, gives up his body and delivers the hardest hits in the league.

Thing about McClain is, if he's not happy, I don't want him on the team at any price. If he fully understands that his own actions are the reason he's not getting more guaranteed money despite tremendous athletic ability and is committed to changing that an earning the long-term contract, that's one thing. If he doesn't get it and is somehow disgruntled in Dallas of all places, he can go back to his quiet retirement and I won't shed any tears or so much as think about the guy again.

Though, to be honest, I would love to see him in the lineup when we play Philly next season.

If he doesn't sign, an early LB selection becomes a lot more likely in the draft, at any rate.

Can't blame McClain for trying to get his pay day... He played one season for cheap and did solid job last year (top 15 LB) and deserves a nice contract. Nothing ghetto about looking for yourself especially when you getting concussions playing this sport

"Rolando McClain Negotiations Not Good"

For who? The Cowboys or Rolando McClain? 32 Teams have not signed him. Obviously, he wants too much money and isn't in touch with his current value. Or maybe he just doesn't want to play anymore. Or maybe he thinks it is better to wait until after the draft. Waiting for after the draft could work for him or against him. Teams which get LBs in the draft will probably lose interest. Teams which couldn't get the LB they wanted might come calling.

I personally think it is good for the Cowboys the longer this drags on. The Cowboys locked up 3 LBs already. Perhaps, the Cowboys just don't want to throw more money in the LB position, especially to a LB who smokes weed and his house burned down from arson.

By all means, let him test the market. I don't think his market will be huge. He's going to sign another show me deal when all is said and done, IMO. I hope it's with us, but if someone gives him a lot more, so be it.

They've already given more money to Brinkley and Gachkar than you would expect for backups. Lee and Hitchens were likely the Nickel LBs even with RoMc on the roster. They now have many LBs with starting experience.
Lee
Hitchen
Brinkley
Gachkar
Rivers
Watson

I think the Brinkley and Gachkar contracts indicate they have moved on from RoMc.

I think they're planning as if they might need to move on but would prefer to have him back

I think that is the right way to do it

When healthy he is an impact player

I really hope we re sign him. No one on our roster can do what he does against the run on 1st and 2nd downs. Brinkley is a poor substitute...

the most updated listing of his net worth I'm able to find has his at $3M, which is nothing for an NFL player in his "prime" and lifestyle they're accustom to living. Forbes has him at $30M but that looks old and probably not updated since his initial rookie contract. He will need money and if there are no high bidders for his services, he will have take a lower amount, despite if it's well below his own perceived value.

Think we all wanna sign him just don't wanna sacrifice out ability to address other areas on a guy that isn't the most reliable

I don't think that any of the LB's we signed can do what Ro can do. IMO, he does make us better. If we can sign him, we should, but not at the cost of signing a bad deal. I have no questions in my mind, as to what his talent level can do for us. That is not to say that the other LBs can't play well for us. I simply think that Ro is better and brings a physical style at MLB that impacts opposing offenses in a way that few other MLBs do in todays NFL.

Not one team will sign this guy other than the Cowboys. Dude is an absolute head case and he may face jail time for insurance fraud if they ever catch the guy who burned down his house. I'd probably move on.

I think the 49ers might. They have a serious need and they might consider overpaying for him. They have a lot of holes to fill and this could be an attractive options for them. JMO

Wow. So from the year he was drafted till now, he has gone through 27M. Can't even fathom what players spend all that money on.
