Twitter: Rolando McClain: "We're taking over the world this year"

I was reading something earlier about how much better players perform when they are in contract years. Well, we have Dez for a 1 year contract (technically), Kraken, and Ro with 1 year deals. All these guys playing for a contract in the same season will be good for this team. I think the best football for these guys is yet to come!

Dez already has proven himself. If they are weighing his value on this year's performance, they are doing Dez wrong.

lol @SilverStarCowboy I love how you edited your post to include the quotes. I went back to look at your post because I thought you were going to change it to the correct spelling. Very nice :)

I agree with all of that, especially the need for a true FS. Everyone talks about needing more D-line guys and a CB or two, but I really think the Cowboys are leaning towards FS in the first couple rounds (assuming they are very close to the BPA)

Yep. Now that I think about it, I think we can be fine with our current CBs. Scandrick is a very good player. He's not in the Revis/Sherman tier, but he's in that next tier. And our other guys will be fine with an improved pass rush. But we have two box safeties back there. We need a safety who makes it feel like we have another CB on the field. There are some good guys who will be available in rounds 2-3 who fit that mold. Problem is, will they be able to step in and start this year?

I think people are sleeping on this Defense. We already have one of, if not the best offenses in the league. I think a D with Hardy (a beast) DLaw (a presumed starter at RDE before the injury and potential star) McClain, Lee (both beasts), and good role players, we will have a sneaky good D. I think Scandrick/Carr/Mo will all be better with the better rush.

Tell you wut....landing a tru FS in the coming Draft is a "would be" crucial move for this D.

We have a tough-nosed defense now, at least on paper. If we fill it in with a few more pieces, this D should be intense if nothing else.

Hmmm, with all those beasts on defense.......would that make Marinelli's official title "the beastmaster", rather than DCoordinator? I kinda like that. :flagwave:

In the spirit of procrastination, I've decided to rank our current starters:

RDE - Hardy
3DT - Crawford
1DT - Hayden
LDE - Lawrence
SLB - Hitchens
MLB - McClain
WLB - Lee
RCB - Carr
LCB - Scandrick
FS - Church
SS - Wilcox

1. Lee
2. Hardy
3. Scandrick
4. McClain
5. Crawford
6. Church
7. Hitchens
8. Carr
9. Wilcox
10. Lawrence
11. Hayden

There is a huge gap between the top 5 and the next 5, then an even huger gap between #10 and Hayden.

Hayden is not the srarter this year, he is just depth. Brent or T. McClain is going to be the starter unless a draft pick is a day one starter or Hayden blackmails Marinelli.

Ro/ Lee/ Kraken!!! Watch out, NFL!

Ro and Hardy. I was praying for that. Nasty attitude is what this defense needs. Not some glass bones like Lee or some sunshine players like Ware.

We are on the right track!
