So much for "quitting on the team" :)

I believe he's wanted to stay with us and only us. Just used the Patriots for leverage to get a better contract.

So damn pumped for this season already. Hope he maintains this passion throughout the year.

i just hope he can finish games this yr and actually practice.

Hayden is not the srarter this year, he is just depth. Brent or T. McClain is going to be the starter unless a draft pick is a day one starter or Hayden blackmails Marinelli.

I'll wait until I see it. Brent and McClain are both marginal players. Until we bring in legit competition, I'll assume Marinelli will prefer Hayden (as he has the past two years). I think Bishop has a better chance of taking over for Hayden than those two guys.

Hayden started because of injuries and lack of depth, there was no one else. McClain was on and off with injuries throughout the year and showed he could collapse the pocket. Brent showed great promise before all his issues and was not in game shape and dealt with a nagging injury last season when he came back. They are a bit more than marginal talents.

Hayden is going to be what he is good at, depth. Marinelli likes him because he does his job consistently, but Hayden is less than a marginal talent.

Once again, I'll wait til I see it. McClain was healthy for long enough to beat out Hayden. And I still don't think Brent is here by Marinelli's choice. I hope Hayden isn't our starting going into week 1. But I don't think one of those guys will be starter.

In the spirit of procrastination, I've decided to rank our current starters:

RDE - Hardy
3DT - Crawford
1DT - Hayden
LDE - Lawrence
SLB - Hitchens
MLB - McClain
WLB - Lee
RCB - Carr
LCB - Scandrick
FS - Church
SS - Wilcox

1. Lee
2. Hardy
3. Scandrick
4. McClain
5. Crawford
6. Church
7. Hitchens
8. Carr
9. Wilcox
10. Lawrence
11. Hayden

There is a huge gap between the top 5 and the next 5, then an even huger gap between #10 and Hayden.

I like it all except that u have Lawrence in there..

So then u agree its haydens job 2 lose?....and the lack of depth still exists .... Hayden is the guy to beat at that position rite now...the guys you mention are a notch below hayden despite your enthusiasm towards them

I agree despite the hayden hate....he is our guy cuz he does his job no more no less...in a defense with so many weaknesses on the dline its important to have discipline

That's not what I am arguing at all.

Hayden is the worst player on the team, but he does his job consistently and stays healthy. That's why he is on the team. Hayden played so much because of depth issues and injuries. Brent and McClain are far greater talents than Hayden could ever hope to be. The team has developmental players like Bishop and Whaley that show promise and players coming back from injury like Okoye. DL depth is not bad, but I expect one or two players to be drafted.

Hayden has to fight to even make the team this year.

Lol...you say...he does his job consistently and always stays healthy, then proceed to say he is the worst player on the team...really dosent quite fit your description

So I see you have no counter argument and are not following me.

A person can do their job, but it can be consistently mediocre. Hayden is good depth, a rotantional guy that can be easily replaced.

I was reading something earlier about how much better players perform when they are in contract years. Well, we have Dez for a 1 year contract (technically), Kraken, and Ro with 1 year deals. All these guys playing for a contract in the same season will be good for this team. I think the best football for these guys is yet to come!

Definitely going to add that "eye of the tiger" element to their game!

No argument only a lack of respect for a position and a player....that is all
