The more weapons the better off we are. I'd love to have a banger in there at FB who is also a receiving threat. I do think that is hard to find.

I'm just want to make the offense more Romo-friendly. :D

If you want to see what Garrett wants in his offense, if you want to have an idea of how Garrett wants to use a FB, just look at the 90s Cowboys. Moose was a pass catching, leadblocking fool. That's what Garrett wants in a FB.

I want a "Larry Centers" type back for this team ..... I think if MB3 is healthy he could fill that role if they redefined it for him.

If not ...... get someone who can.

Tony Moeaki - the TE from Iowa

this kid just makes plays

he 6-4 maybe 6-3 250

Moeaki is anywhere from the fourth- to 13th-best tight end in the draft. Some mock draft sites have him as high as the late second round, others have him late in the sixth.

To go along with the great size and speed, he also has great hands, as demonstrated against Wisconsin when he made a ninja-like touchdown catch in the back of the end zone to tie the game.

Perhaps his greatest, and most overlooked skill, is his ability to run block. Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz hasn't overlooked it, and thinks the senior from the Island of Tonga is one of the most talented tight ends he has ever coached

If his kid can really run block, then kudos for the find. Be curious to see any vid on him.

Just on the surface, it seems to me that Garrett may want to utilize the FB similar to the way NO utilizes their FB (where the FB can be another pass catching "threat" as well).

Finally, I'd add that the FB Philly added last year, Weaver, seemed like a nice addition to their roster. He probably fits the mold of the more traditional FB, however, with good running skills as well.

Opinions?

Garrett said when he first became offensive coordinator that he prefered having a fullback along the lines of Daryl Johnston, a big-time blocker who is also effective as a runner and receiver. However, he acknowledged that it's not easy to find a Moose.

The Cowboys tinkered with giving more responsibility as a runner and receiver to Deon Anderson, but have never really followed through on using him as much more than a blocker (which probably says they weren't satisfied with the results).

John Phillips absorbed a lot of Anderson's playing time this year near the end of the season because he proved to be a solid blocker out of the fullback spot (which a lot of tight ends can't do) while also being an effective receiver.

Barring a fullback being available in the draft whom Dallas sees as Moose-like, I expect Phillips to be on the field in the fullback spot a lot more next season.
